240SX's are nice, but swapping in an SR20 can be a really big hassle. There's a lot of ---- you have to take into consideration, making sure you get everything you need, replacing parts on it, etc etc. They're also known for bad water pumps and warping heads.
Some people will tell you the KA24DE is a truck motor, while others will say it's a good candidate for modification / boost. As for how much power you can get, I've seen dyno pulls past 300 on stock internals but I'd say either engine is probably good for < 300 or so. Also as was previously mentioned, there isn't a real "cheap" solution for tuning a turbo KA24DE that I know of, if somebody knows of one then post it up, but I'm not aware of anything. Don't even think about using SRTalk though, that probem is useless at this point in time.
I'm with hotrex on this one though, get a foxbody mustang.
