Would this be a good compressor?

I've always wanted a compressor, but never did buy one. I don't want it to be big because I only rent the places I stay, and currently the place i'm at has a garage, so it'd be nice to have one. But when I move, maybe the new place won't have a garage so I want it to be small enough where I can tuck it in the basement out of the way when i'm not using it.

What do you guys think of this, would this compressor combo be okay for most jobs (installing lowering springs, turbo kits..etc). I figure any airtools would beat remove bolts by hand.

Includes:
8-gallon cast-iron compressor - 1.3HP, 125 max PSI
½" impact wrench
3/8" ratchet
Spray gun
2-in-1 nailer/stapler
Tire inflation gauge
64-piece hand tool set

8 gallon is pretty small man.

i have a 32 gallon compressor, and that thing barely has the balls to run a impact gun.

Really? I don't mind if the compressor is going all the time, as long as it has enough juice to break free motor mount bolts and lower controll arm bolts.

thaht is way too small it would be useless for anything but a nail gun

it all depends on what you want it for, but ya CFM is where its at. and you may want to get something a little bigger than 8 gal, but if you get an 8 gal get a belt drive compressor. its not half as loud.

i got the 32 gall husky
9.4 cfm at 150psi
but its still not powerful enought to remove flywheel bolts or the crank pulley bolt

Re: Would this be a good compressor?

Compressor produces 4.5 scfm at 40 psi and 3.7 scfm at 90 psi

??? i guess it sucks.

Even the more expensive ones I was looking at are less than 5cfm@90psi. The only good ones are about $600cdn, 11.3cfm@90psi, but the tank is really big.

ya stan i was in the same boat during x-mas time.. saw a deal for 199 for an entire kit, research showed it only to be good for a damn nail gun and maybe a air ratchet for 5 sec. anything w/ prolonged use dies quick (like a grinder or impact)

save up and buy a good one or buy a used one?

I had an 8 gallon, not worth buying one that small. The one I have now I'm sure you've seen works pretty good for 300 bucks. Bought it from Costco and I still see them there. You can come by and check it out, it's a little loud since it's an
oiless setup.
