How many miles do you need to make it? I drove my LS VTEC with a bad knock for like 20+ and it made it. It totally trashed the crank and journals, and the piston was slapping the head, luckily it was a gs-r head, so the quench pads took the beating and not the valves.

My old f22 lasted about 60 miles after it started knocking.
It totally sucked me and my girlfriend were at her brothers I told her I thought the motor was starting to making some noise and might blow up on the way home. So she decided it was a good time to invite all five of his kids to stay all night with us. I said no becuase I didn't even know if we would make it home it was a big fight and I said ---- it. about half way home the thing just started letting go. I told her to keep it running and I went in the gas station and got a few quarts of cheap oil.
LMAO about every ten miles when the oil light would come on I pulled over kept it running and dumped a quart of oil in. *L* the rod shot through the block as we pulled in the driveway.
I say any miles it makes it closer to your house on it's own is that much cheaper the tow bill will be take your cell phone and some oil with you. and make sure it's in the middle of a week day so if you need it you can get towed. I think it'll make it.
