Re:worth it?

as a fellow oregonian i advise you to junk that motor. around here if anything sits out for more than 3 days that's bare metal it's junk anyway, and i can guarantee that the cylinders in that thing are toast. also two more reasons for not rebuilding that motor: 1, as previously stated there isn't much in the way of aftermarket parts for that motor so it doesn't help much in the way of learning about aftermarket parts and their effects on performance. and 2, i understand that you just want to learn about engines and such, but when you're dealing with a motor that's all rusted and crap. you're going to be dealing with broken bolts all the time, and that sort of thing will hinder you because you'll spend so much time drilling that crap out that you'll give up on it.

my suggestion: go find some d-series motor someone has sitting in their dry garage, buy it for 50 bucks and learn off of that. take that as you may.......

I'm like 25 mins away from you. Bring it to my shop and i'll bust it open with air tools. Then decide whether it is worth the trouble. And get a crash course on how to take apart an engine! Putting it back together could be you year long project.....

Understandable...and please, don't anybody think that I'm planning on getting this thing apart and back together (whether it's just putting it back together, or rebuilding it performance wise (probably not though)) at any fast rate. I know it's gonna be like 5 times longer for me than any of you.

Where are you located Mattssi?
