Default Worst Luck Today...

well, lets see, i was pulling thechrage lines for my AC out, and the wrench slipped, CRUSHED my finger, (my hace to go get x-rays. well, what i didn't notice, what the wrench pinch cut a bunch of wires on the main feed into the engine bay. i got a few re-soldered, and taped up. so i started the car, and through code 4. so i went back threw and re-checked, taped, and re-re-checked all my joints now. re-started, and no code. so i let the car from for a bit while i got ready for work. come out and still no code, so i'm feeling better. then on the way in, CEL lights up and the car surges a bit. it only sruged once or twice on the way in, and i got it into the parking garage without any trouble. so then i check and i'm throwing 4 AND 9. so, that's TDC and Crank Angle. you think it's safe to make the 12 minute drive home tonight, or do i have to try to re-fix everything in a dark parking garage to get home?

you should be fine to get home, make sure you are using solder paste when u solder them....And put the gun on one side of the wire and the solder on the other side, let it heat up and draw it through, ur probably making a bad connection which is incresing the resistance and causing the Voltages your ECU see's to be off.

it was to cold to solder outside here over the weekend, so i bought a box of butt joints for wires, and a good set of crimpers. drove in this morning without any probs. thanks for the advice. i still need to retape evertything though. didn't want to do that until i know it was good.

Yesterday i put a drill bit 5/8" through my finger and had it snap off...my friend/co-worker had to pull it out with a pair of vice-grips...pulled out some meat along with it.
