"During their courts-martial, Barker and Cortez testified they took turns raping the girl while Green shot and killed her mother, father and younger sister. Green shot the girl in the head after raping her, they said"

Somehow i doubt this is the best way to win over the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people.

I agree. It's bad enough that most of the army/navy/marines is all kids younger than me. I think they want to make an example of the guy, even though he "technically" didn't do anything.

I also don't think he's gonna be elgible for parole that was an example i think.

"The jury had recommended life with parole, a sentence under which he would have to wait longer for the possibility of parole. He will be eligible for parole after 10 years."

I was home on recruiters assistance right after a Marine killed someone "innocent" in iraq and everyone treated me like it was me who had done it. When I was on recruiters assistance I can't even count the number of times I was called a murder.

As for what this guy was convicted of, the only thing they had on him was that he was a lookout for the people who were killing/raping. None of those people have been charged yet.

It still doesn't make you a murderer. It's not your problem people can't see you for you. Next time pick out thier skin color, or whatever you want and group them together by calling them ------ (or whatever you decide to use as thier group). Then, you can either lay them out, or explain that you were only grouping them as they did to you.

He plead guilty to the charges so he must not feel the same way you guys feel. When you plead guilty you know what you can be sentenced, and that was the deal his attorney struck with the prosecutor. If his attorney and he felt they had a solid case, they would have taken it to a criminal trial where they would have presented evidence on his behalf proving his innocence. :1
