My dad got this in an email from someone. Kinda makes you wonder what else you should be washing.

This is Serious!
This incident happened recently in North Texas.

A woman went boating one Sunday taking with her some cans of coke which she put into the refrigerator of the boat. On Monday she was taken to the hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit. She died on Wednesday.

The autopsy concluded she died of Leptospirosis. This was traced to the can of coke she drank from, n ot using a glass. Tests showed that the can was infected by dried rat urine and hence the disease Leptospirosis.

Rat urine contains toxic and deathly substances. It is highly recommended to thoroughly wash the upper part of soda cans before drinking out of them. The cans are typically stocked in warehouses and transported straight to the shops without being cleaned.

A study at NYCU showed that the tops of soda cans are more contaminated than public toilets (i.e).. full of germs and bacteria. So wash them with water before putting them to the mouth to avoid any kind of fatal accident.

I wipe them with my shirt, which probably doesn't do ---- other than adding more germs, but the millions and millions of cans that people drink every year (or month) and don't get sick...I'm not going to waste my time cleaning them.

I rarely drink from cans. If they are still in the box then yeah, but I still pore it in a glass. Ones out of the box I don't touch. Like the ones they sell at convenient stores or in the 6 packs. No telling what has gotten on them from sitting in the back in storage.

um you must not be too good at english. in the beginning of the post, i clearly stated it was an email my DAD got, not me. i found it interesting, so i posted it here. i dont hardly respond to my emails, much less forward siupid ----.

I'm talking about the ones still in the cardboard cases from the factory since they sterilize them. I don't like the ones they have open at stores because they sit in the back of the store room with no telling what. I usually drink water anyways so that's probably the biggest reason also.

I used to freely urinate and let stray monkeys throw poo on the cans where I worked. Sometimes I had to rub one out too.

Yeah thanks to your info about the fountain drink I don't drink them any longer either. I stick to bottles now. Aquafina Wild Berry water is all you need. ---- is da bomb yo

I've seen a few news reports on how the ice in fountain drinks is dirtier than the toilets, and stuff like that.

Every place I worked with a fountain drink place loaded their ice from a cooler that was never cleaned, into a multi-purpose bucket that was never cleaned, into the dispenser that was never cleaned.

I'll pay the premium and get a cheap faygo or something.

On a side note, anyone had any for the Rock Star coffee energy drinks? Pretty damn tasty and has the jolt of a normal energy drink.
