So, lamens terms, which wire goes to which. On each unit. Does anything on the welder itself have to be grounded since there are only 3 wires from the welder and 4 from the plug?

Im going to be soldering, heatscrinking these connections so Id rather be sure and have uit work the FIRST time

I could have sworn we already went over this? BLACK GOES TO BLACK, WHITE FROM WELDER GOES TO RED ON CORD, GREEN GOES TO GREEN. Its not that hard. The white from the cord is not used.

When you say green to green, you mean green form the welder to bare in the plug?

My grandpa, wired up this dryer, is there any reason why this wouldnt work? Why am I not using the white on the plug?

The white is a neutral. Red is a hot, black is a hot, and bare/green is your ground. Your welder either doesn't have a neutral or is actually a 120v welder and you're about to blow it up by hooking 220v to it. :P Good luck!

Pretty easy question. My grandpa wired this damn dryer, and you said green from the plug which there isnt

Should I wire both the white and bar form the plug to the green on the welder?
