Winter Storage?

Just curious how many of you store your cars for the winter and what is the best way to do so?

I would want to start it once a week to make sure nothing freezes, but I'm also worried about the gas going bad and/or having the octane rating go down. Some kid locally just boosted his car and blew it up the same day by putting 87 Octane in. I have a full tank of gas and don't know if that's a good thing ot bad and I obviously don't want to start spring with a bblown engine.

Just go for a little road trip and park it. You can use that stabil junk and then use some water out and dont boost for the whole tank int he spring, that would pry work

Use Stabil, make sure to run the car for a bit after you put it in, just so it circulates around.

Yep, I too store my Integra for the winter. It's there now actually :'( But I remove the battery and bring it home somewhere warm, because if you leave it in the car it freezez and the next time you go to start it, she's dead :P I also don't leave any good wheels and tires on the car so that they don't dryrot. Someone told me that concrete will absorb moisture and somehow wil dryrot your tires. So, thats another thing I do.
I also like to add as mentioned above the Stabil additive to a full tank of gas. It works great and you will have no worries of your gas going bad over the months. One more thing thats a good idea is to keep mice/rat traps or poison around your car. Mice love to chew on wires and chew the copper inside, so instead of coming back in spring to a wiring disaster, I keep some traps around the car. You'd be surprized at how many mice have gotten in there...

as far as the dry rot you could just jack up the car. the battery will have to go indoors. and that stabil stuff works. it's only gonna be for 3-4 months.

I hand't even though of the mouse thing. Dealers do that in the winter, just put some of that dcon in the engine bay

drain your gas tank. stick a hose in it and suck on the hose(preferably a clear hose so you can see the gas)suck on the hose as close to ground level as you can, then empty the remaining gas into buckets or gas containers. stabil is just to keep the octane in gas from lowering.
when you suck on the hose the gas will flow towards your mouth so when it's close to your mouth just put the hose in a gas container and the gas will por into the container on its' own. or, you could just drive the car till the gas light comes on. when you drive it again just bring a 5 gallon gas container with some new 93 octane, pour it in so it mixes with the little amount of gas left in the tank and fire up the motor.

No special oil treatment? I heard someware to add a small squirt of oil in the spark plug holes on top of the piston. Is this true or?
