every time i get an invite request it says unable to connect no matter what. is there some big ------- secret cause its annoying i cant get into games with anyone and IW's website is useless for help info. im gonna put a controller through the screen :7

mines turbo_civic and my buddy ranked 22 in the world is mazdaspeeds usually its becouse you have a shitty connection .... i shut off all the computers in the house when i play other wise the lag is unreal :y ... also are you running a a router

Always a good idea to see if that router is causing problems. I don't have a PS3, but on my 360 I have to forward a few specific port ranges for it to connect through my router, works fine then.

I'm pretty sure PS3 has port ranges to be forwarded by the router, but I don't own a ps3 and thus don't care so you'll have to look it up on your own.

Port ranges on a PS3 is 50 to the highest number allowed by your router. Mine is 65,503 while a buddies is 80,000. It depends on the brand of Router you have. Mine is a LinkSys. His is a D-Link.

ok so i got it to work with it directly on the modem but i dont want to have to take it off the router everytime just to play COD4. i still wanna know how to setup these port ranges

You set the port ranges inside the router. On mine you type in 192.168.1.1 in the internet search bar and it takes you to the router set-up. It should tell you in the manual that came with the router.

i went into the router but didnt see anything for port ranges, but then again im not a computer genious so...and i dont have the instruction manual anymore, who actually keeps those? i guess i can check netgears site.

Corey, it might be under "port forwarding"

Just go through all the menus until you see something dealing with ports, and lets you choose UDP/TCP

its because of ea's shitty servers. they have been having tons of problems on all 3 platforms with all their games. it usually takes a few hours for them to get their ---- straight.
