Haha, this thread delivers!

On one hand we have a DSM owner, who's apparently a dumb *** because he generalizes all Honda's as ----, and thinks his car is king ---- of ---- mountain.

Then on the other hand, we have a bunch of dumb asses here who's rebuttal is to generalize all DSM owners as ****** and all the cars as ----. You sound just like him!

My DSM doesn't beat everything on street, and your Honda's don't either. They're ------- cars, they all have there pros and cons. There's always someone faster. If he's a total douche like he sounds like he is, then race him and beat him, and put him in his place.

And to anyone who knows me personally. I'm a DSM owner, I am NOT a dick. I think my car is decently fast, but don't see it as the best car ever to be placed on this planet. I race around on the freeways at times, sometimes I win, sometimes I get beat. It's all in fun. I've lost plenty of times, and just give the other guy a thumbs up. If I win, I'll give you a thumbs up. It's just retarded to lump everyone into one category because of what they drive.

And just to comment on some of the things I remember through out this thread:

I've never had a DSM catch on fire.

I don't have any electrical problems? I don't even know what you are referring to, unless you're talking about replacing the caps in the ECU that costs 10 bucks, which hardly consitutes being called HUGE ELECTRICAL ISSUES.

As far as poor engine management/logging tools, what? I could log damn near everything on my car with a $20 palm/logger cable setup. You can burn Eprom chips for them. I personally run DSMLink and have plenty of logging and controlling capabilities.

As for made by Chrysler, what are you getting at? It was a joint venture between Mitsu and Chrysler. It was built in Illinoiis, but the motor and all is Mitsu. 4G63 is Mitsubishi. The NA 2g's did come with a Chrysler motor though, but who cares about those.

And about removing the turbo and seeing who wins? WTF kind of logic is that? Let's take a design that was built to be used on a turbo platform, and then just take the turbo away. That's retarded.

As for tranny problems, You hit the nail on the head. These trannies suck.

Some people said it's so hard to make power on these. I don't understand how you came to that conclusion at all.

About bolt on mitsu turbos. You ever heard of Forced Perfomance's bolt on turbine housings? They outflow a T3 .63 exhaust housing. As for the other ones that are the typical 7cm2 housings, yes you're right on that they limit top end, but they do not decrease spool time.

Blowing a rod out of the side of the motor at 240hp, something was wrong, simple as that.

Yup they weigh more. Definately a downfall, but again everything has it's pros/cons.

Yes Maintenance is key with these cars. You have to take care of them.

Again in the end, to each his own. Like someone else said, run your car not your mouth. If he annoys you, race him and beat him. Then ---- his mom!

is it fair to compare the reliability of a car that barely makes 100whp (most hondas) to a car that makes almost 200

power breaks stuff, power is hard on everything.

the reason you see the 60hp crx hf last 600 miles is because you could stop the engine by grabing a cam

^ I have never had a problem out of any of out GM vehicles. Fords seem to have the shittiest trannys I have ever seen. All of ours had tranny problems.

So I guess my ignition controler died at random because I was making too much power.

And that oil must be leaking from every seal in the engine because it's making too much power.

And my coolant hoses constantly fail while cruising at 65mph because it's making too much power.

And best of all, my engine sensors die at random and my ECU's IAC drivers fried because it's making too much power.
