I dont like DSMs for the fact that you can never slam there trannys like a honda. 3 of my friends drive DSMs 2 GST and one GSX and there good people. They know there cars came from the factory broken and they dont care. The funny thing is there amazed that i boosted my completely stock 215xxx 1.5 liter honda at 9 pounds and i hasn't blown up yet!

Buy what you like!

Its to bad that the diamond star motors didnt get it right. If they had fixed the problems that make it unreliable it might have been a ok car. But the bigest problem is reliabilty. You MUST carry a tool kit with you at all times! If you dont you will be sitting on thee side of the road wating for the tow truck. I have a Stickmans 97 gsx sitting in my front yard for 6 weeks now. It blew up on the dyno (threw a rod right out the side of the block at 4000rpms) at only 245 whp. It has a 16g, huge intercooler, aem ems, all the bolt ons you can think of. The funny thing is that we checked the logs and it had NO knock and it just gave up. The gsx hardly gets beat on, but my My crx gets it like a redheaded step child.

ive seen about 100x more pile of ---- hondas than dsm cars

He's got a point on that...Just in my area and hometown alone I know of at least 6 hondas/acuras hitting that 400+ mark, most of which I had a hand in tuning/assembly. As for DSM's over 400hp, only one that I have seen is a local guy with an '05 evo with all sorts of Buschur racing goodies, and I guarantee he spent at least 3x more than the Honda guys just to make that power. The older 6-bolt designs are good at taking a beating (probably no doubt due to the ultra-low c/r) and making power up to a certain point. After that it's just not worth it. :P

I am the one and only krustindumm, but I the only blue CRX I had was an '85 Si parts car, and it had a blue engine bay. I've also had a white '86 Dx, gray 91 Civic hatch Dx, white '91 CRX Si, red (then camo green) '90 240sx, flat black '91 Civic DX, and now a silver '00 accord sedan.

^ I could have swore you had a blue crx with white engine bay. At least in your avatar.

True, but I was referring to Honda's being a reliable economic car and DSM's being a wanna-be sporty car. If only it wasn't so damn piggy.

im sure building those honda engines was cheap...

you don't need a bunch of name brand parts to make a "dsm" fast
