Well the shifter bushings definitely need replacing, the shifter feels all loose and sloppy as hell. I never thought that it could be something as simple as that? I'll get some urethane bushings and see how they help. Can I install them from in the car or do I have to do it from underneath?

I see, I really don't have much hands on experience with trannys, thanks for the input. Looks like I can get a set for about $20 shipped on ebay. My shifter feels a little sloppy, when I'm in gear I can still wiggle it left and right a good amount. Will the bushings fix that or could this be a different problem?

Yea yea I know, that's not gonna happen real soon anyways. So can anyone answer my last question about if the bushings will fix the sloppy sideways movement when I'm in gear? This would also kick some muthafuckin *** if they fix the grinding when I shift into first.
