Who runs a wideband 24/7?

Is it bad to do this? i wanna constantly monitor my engine since a ls1 costs more than any normal honda engine, and blowing it up would be pretty shitty. But if its bad for the wideband im just gonna sell the wideband and pray that someone can tune it well.

I'm curious as well, because I'm too lazy to uninstall/reinstall whenever i want to tune.

Re: Who runs a wideband 24/7?

it shouldnt be a problem since tons of factory cars run them.

Obviously the sensor itself will wear faster but there is nothing wrong or harmful to the unit by running it 24/7.

I don't drive my turbo'd car in the winter. This spring & last spring, I've had to replace the WBO2. :S

The rest of the year when it seems daily use, it's not a problem.

Mine is hooked up all the time. To me, that's the whole point of it, so I KNOW that the a/f is correct every time I make a pull.

i ran mine everyday, just gotta make sure you don't run too much of that 100 octane or that sensor wont last long at all. they dont like anything higher than pump gas

Re: Who runs a wideband 24/7?

if you use ANY leaded race gas even when going to the track for the night itll smoke the o2 sensor so keep that in mind if you always run one

Yeah I run mine in the car alot. When I first got it I ran it for about 3 months straight. I haven't had to replace it yet.

the unit most use is factory in vw's and doesn't go out that often, so go for it.

If it's unleaded, then it doesn't matter.

Re: Who runs a wideband 24/7?

That's what I plan on doing. The sensor itself isn't that much. I figured I would rather fork over the $ to replace one after a few years that mess with pulling one in and out all the time.

So you're worried about the cost of replacing an o2 sensor ievery year or so nstead of your costly LS1? :1
