Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here
i think rabbitshit was one of the first to run megasquirt but i dont think he is on here much
edit: or are you asking who runs the company? |
Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here
ive used and built them. pretty good product.

Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here
I've built one but havent used it yet. I'm gonna make a plug-n-play MS harness for my volvo. It'll hookup to the standard ECU plug. Nifty ;)
Edit: GlensGarage.com is a good place to buy from. Everything is packaged and labelled. Fool proof assembly. |
Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here
ditto. unless your going digital ignition i wouldnt worry about anything. other than learning how t tune it, i fond nothing wrong with it.

Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here

Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here
well if your going to get a prebuilt unit, then cool. props to ya.if not, then go get it from glens gerage. tell him you need the ---- asap because it might take him a month to ship. anyways, if you going to do it yourself, you need a ocuple things.
1 Soldering iron. 20 to 30 watts is fine. 1 roll 60/40 .062 dia standard rosin-core solder works just fine. 1 desoldering bulb. 1 tube rtv or silicon compound. a pair of small or micro wire cutters. a small pair of needle knose pliers will be dandy helpfull a db9 serial cable. (if your getting the stimulator, add 1 9v battery) and your good to go. as far as the harness goes, it depends on what rout you wanna go. and some experience and knowledge to properly solder. also before you do these things, mak sure you have all the provisions too. like if your gonna run certain things, like water temp, airtemp sensors, and a wb02 sensor is strongly suggested. |
Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here

DIYAutoTune is a company, megasquirt is the DIY fuel injection system. Order from DIYAutotune, he's got a better reputation than Glens garage.
And Whitey runs it. ;) Attachment 36549 http://www.hmt-tv.com/hmt/matt/Banshee/DSC00489.JPG http://www.hmt-tv.com/hmt/matt/Banshee/DSC00631.JPG |
Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here
I just ordered one today from DIYautotune. I hope its not too hard :P
I bought a Megasquirt-I V3 board. I intend to run msns-E. I bought it preassembled. |
Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here
for what man
so what all do i need to order |
Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here
Link, my suggestion is get the megasquirt-I with the V3 board. It is the one that allows you to run boost control and fuel and timing and all that ----. Eventually you will want to upgrade to a megasquirt-II, but that is an addon card to the V3 board, and will only cost about $80 (about the same that it would cost you to get the MS-II preassembled, anyway).
Get the V3 board, http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/m...unit-p-56.html the wire loom, http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/m...eady-p-43.html the Serial cable, http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/m...thru-p-35.html and the GM open element IAT http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/o...tail-p-62.html Its about $450 for all of it shipped. |
Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here
would that be good for what im trying to do
1 x MegaSquirt-I Programmable EFI System PCB2.2 - Assembled Unit 1 x 12' MegaSquirt Wiring Harness (MS1 / MS2 Ready) 1 x MegaSquirt Stimulator - Assembled Unit |
Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here
dont buy it pre assembled. its soo friggin easy to build one that its retarted. literally.
you dont need to run a v3 board. get a version two board. and let an electronic boost contreoller do all the work. as far as sparc, you runin distributor? thats less money. all in all, youll need just a couple basic things. |
Re: who runs DIYAutoTune here
link did you look at the pic that whitey posted. the only semi-hard part would be soldering the 3 chips in. the rest is just alot of capaciters. i think whitey even said that it was his first time soldering

I'd usually reccomend people build it themselves but for linkmustang's case I think he should buy a pre assembled one. I did alot of reading and research before I even got started. Its not the simplest thing to do but I do think anyone willing to learn can do it. No offense to Ilinkmustang but I don't think he has the reading and writing skills required for that. I mean look at the title of this thread, he didn't even get the name of the system right. :-\ I couldn't imagine him over on the Megasquirt forums. :l ::Edit:: Nevermind. http://www.msefi.com/viewtopic.php?t=15105 :l |
