my dad is a power freak, im sure if i knew about turbos several years ago or was a little older i could probally havy convinced him to buy a evo 8 or something for himself (he currently owns a merc 500 s class 89).

yeah my parents def dont want me streetracing or killin my self but as long as i am out of trouble they cant really say much. anytime i get something new for my car i show my mom what it is and how it works and shes like thats cool even tho it all went right opver her head. and my dad helped out a lil when i did my swap
dad- "hey you dropped something" ,"you gunna clean that ---- up", "dont loose my tools" that stuff. hes into the classics old buicks and cadies and rolls. i mostly use him of his general knowlage of everything. and as far as parents being in the car my mom has moved my car out of the drive way and ive talken her around town and she didnt even know i had leather seats. and my dad is in fl right now so when i go down to see him ill be boosted so he can see what ive been doing all this time

my mom is just the same. she doesn't understand buying somethin worth 2k, then dumpin 5k into it. she has offerered to help me pay for a "nice" car (i wouldn't mind a G35 or RSX :P )

as she puts it, she just wants to get in her car, turn it on, and go. also, being loud is bad, and not shifting at 3 grand means your racing (lol, i love that one). one time i was leavin home kinda quick cuz i had to pick up my sis and i didn't want to, so i was a lil louder than normal (only shiftin at like 4.3, right before vtec) and she CALLS me on my cell, to tell me im driving too fast and need to slow down

when i gave her a ride in my car, all she did was complain about how bumpy it was

oh, and when me and my sis are late for school, the "oh ----" bar becomes her best friend

my dad on the other hand is awesome. he flips cars for a living (buy shitty cars, fix em, sell em higher than bought), and his mentality is as long as i don't get caught, im alright.

my dad used to build cars in his younger days so hes cool with it and whenever id tell my mon how much i spent shed just roll her eyes, he boyfriend understands though cause hes a mechanic. my grandpa says "youll never get the power out of that 4 banger that youd get out of a v8". he used to race dragsters when he was my age, and if i ever told him i were to run someone on the highway from light to light hed freak. he always gets on my uncle who lives in phoenix cause he street races alot.

Mom doesn't say much. Doesn't know why to spend money in something I won't get back out of it. Dad was against it. Now he slowly comes around. "That isn't a/c compatible? Ahhh.......JOSH!!!" Now it's "Let's take it out you'll have more room anyway" 1st - "We have to have someone let that freon out and get the lines coated" Now it''s "$60. Screw that. We'll leave it out into the ozone." What about the lines Dad? "They'll be alright" He never understood why I would make the car fast and NOT street race. He thinks I'll race it. I don't and won't not illegaly. On the track? Heck yea! Guranteed 100% he'll be there too with the digital camera, or the video camera cheering me on. LOL. We have a funny relationship. Out of everyone I ever met or know. I hate him the most. On the other hand I found I do because I love him the most. He's SC now so I keep him updated on my D-series project. I just thank God for my parents. They support me in everything.

haha good thread.. my parents didnt seem to understand how much car can mean to someone. they stopped supporting me and my car for a while and i just started dealing for a while. they werent paying for anything on my car, i always have a job, they just took ---- away from me till i couldnt afford to work on it. (ie just saying they were gonna start selling my car stuff, food money, insurance, rent, etc) well anyway i ended up in jail for that bullshit, but made enough to afford court/lawyer/drug fines, and still come out ahead by $2000 for my rex. now theyre finally realizing that they should let me work on my car and not make money other ways.

Usually he just lets me do my thing and thats about it... I don't live there anymore though... that's probably why he bitches when i use his garage. ha.... No more of that though... Just got a pole barn for 300$/month rental. Month to Month no lease... huge.
