Who needs power steering?!

I'm thinking about going to manual steering in my nova so I can get the 454 to fit. I just can't see any other way to make it fit . Anyone else running manual steering? Regret it?

Ran manual steering in my old 84 s-10 with a 400sbc...for about 3 weeks :P Trust me...don't do it with that heavy of a car/motor.

I had a '78 Camaro with a 454 with no power steering. It takes a bit of muscle when you're in a parking lot but other than that, no problem.

3400lb truck + 31" tall tires on deep backspaced rims, weighing in about 60lbs each, no power steering.

---- you ----- boys that whine about no power steering hitting a pothole with dinky tires on stock rims.

my 3600lb 300zx with 245 wide tires had no powersteering, it wasnt too bad if you were rolling, i liked it actually, but being stopped took some weight to turn the wheel.

have you driven a small car with no ps? Take that has your judge. None of my hondas have ever had ps but I know when I drove my brothers 70's white trash mobile with no ps it was kinda of a pain

No PS in the Crx. Anything above 15mph and you dont notice and will probably actually like it more

Parking lots and little manuevering and such you got flex a little

Ladies love it

del slo didn't have it, civic did, crx doesn't....crx is the easiest out of all of them, but they're all easy.

i'd prefer no ps, less crap in the way and feels more responsive.

Welcome to the gun show!

If you can get a manual rack, do it. No PS on a PS racked car is kinda a PITA like everyone says. Manual racks are fine though, just gotta make sure your tires are inflated all the way or slow speed turning kinda sucks.

It'll be fine, jsut setup the suspension alignment a little differently.

Less caster, and less toe.

my 94 toyota pickup didn't have power-steering, but it was a 2wd reg cab so it was very light. I didn't mind it too much, just sucked at stop and parking lots. I don't know about in a heavier car tho :-\

Re: Who needs power steering?!

My Galant has no power steering and that bitch is a beast. Can't remember the last time I had a car with power steering. Every civic I've owned I've ripped it out right away along with the A/C. Getting all the clutter out of the way and easier to work on ---- with a nice clean and empty engine bay. Oh and that's less ---- to break also. But ---- the galant is bloat beach whale and if I ever decided to auto-x this thing...it would be a mad workout to say the least and I'd probably have every cone in my bumper and wheelwells. lol. But in a honda....rip that ---- out.
