Re: Who makes DA traction bar/crossmember?

HAHA 7" on t25.

No I don't make one. I would like too, but I have never been able to find a test car in my area. I may have more luck come this spring.

The only problem i I like to have a Jig that is actually the car when I fab them. 92-00 isn't so bad because no other bolts other then the tow hook need to line up, unlike a EF, DA or CB. That why my EF Jig is the front of a Car torched off from the wreckers. My jig and fixture costs would be really high if I had to do that for DAs and CBs.

MM, Never hear dof these guys and they are only 2.5hrs away from me. I've seen all those cars at Import Drag Days.

Not to bash them but the only problem I see is the in-ability to adjust the radius rods on the car.

you are most certainly wrong http://etdracing.com/perfparts/perf14.html "The radius arms are CNC machined from solid Chrome Moly which requires no welding to ensure a strong and solid arm to prevent from fatigue and breakage. With the versatility of the radius arms, fitment is perfect every time and adjustability is only a twist away." http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/3...jradius8jp.jpg

Re: Who makes DA traction bar/crossmember?

Yes, but you must un-bolt them from the LCA in-order to adjust.

A better design use 2 heims (1 LH and 1 RH) so that all the user does is loose the jam nuts and turns the rod.

ososlohatch 02-20-2006 03:44 PM

Re: Who makes DA traction bar/crossmember?

lol it takes like 5 min you loose'n 4 bolts, then adjust the bolts on the radius rod

Castor Troy 02-20-2006 04:40 PM

Re: Who makes DA traction bar/crossmember?

or you can just take the 2 bolts out of the heims to adjust... anyway looking at that design it doesn't look like it is going to leave much clearance between the block and the crossmember... you'll notice it bolts up to the same place your factory one bolts to and goes straight across. other designs bolt to and drop down from the tow hooks allowing much more clearance for that 7"er you're talkin about.

then the rod would only bolt up proper to the LCA every 180 deg of rotation ;)

_ | _ | :)

maybe you just turn the nut on the end and it pulls the arm in and out?

Re: Who makes DA traction bar/crossmember?

what do u do with the horizontal crossmember, the one that attachs from the big crossmember down to the steering area.

I dont have that in right now and i dont notice any diffence.

Re: Who makes DA traction bar/crossmember?

im def gonna pick one up. Why would u need to adjust those damn things? U can adjust them on the OEM?

bumblezc 02-20-2006 11:06 PM

Re: Who makes DA traction bar/crossmember?

Adjusting a Crossmember comes into to play when your Actually making enough power to require one for anything more then added space.

When you get into preloading FWD suspension or adusting you Caster you will know the difference.

Again with this design you are only getting 180deg adjustments like crx88si said.

I'm not bashing these guys, I have seen there cars in person, and possibly even talked the shop owners? Plus they are the only ones at this moment offering a DA traction bar at sub-$350.

how is that not good? that bar does completly nothing... i took mine out because it got in the way when swapping trannies n i noticed it does nothing at all... ef or crx's dont have them so why should the integra. look at the bar from where the connecting points are, its useless

If you'd have actually read what i posted you'd have noticed that i had spotted that one out already. :-*
I was just concerned at the quality of it. I mean, you can buy a lot of ---- off ebay, and a lot of times it turns out to be ebay quality. A Crossmember is not something i would like to have fail so i was curious as to whether or not anyone else had used one or know anything about its quality or any other makers. Thanks so far for the responses folks, i'll probably end up getting one unless somebody else wants to be the HMT test dummy.

yea but when i ordered my lcons that mounted to the tow hooks, i went to mount it and all the welded nuts on the other side of the tow hook snapped off, the only option was to cut out the frame to get to it to put other nuts on or weld the bitch in, i ended up just putten em to the side because one of the threads got fucked up on the radius rod, anyway the tow hook mounting spot can be a bitch sometimes depending how old your car is or how good those stock tow hook nuts are welded on

That is becuase even though it may fit, LCONs are not desiged for EFs. The place all of the load on an area of the chassis which was not designed for it (the tow hook) and have o support to the factory lcations. A proper design on an EF only uses the tow hook for locating the bars.

Even though I have never inspected one of these in person, I have seen their 10sec car in person race. From what I see at the track, the seem to be a very repetable shop.
