have you made this with some sugar added to it? i made some wine with oranges before and used sugar yeast water and i just put a punching baloon on the top of a bottle with a zip tie

lol rex before condemning something try it yourself. Trust me. If you follow the recipe I posted you will be grateful unless you drink it before it's ready or are justa stubborn bitch.

Sugar ADDED? Honey has a LOT of sugar, it's practically pure syrup. In other words honey = alcohol depending on how many nutrients you give it + the yeast. Yeast + sugar + nutrients = strong drink.

The only problem with feeding the honey/yeast mixture too much is that the yeast burns up ALL the sugar, which in turn leaves you with a shitty tasting gasoline drink. If seriously interested, I suggest going to gotmead.org. It's a forum similar to HMT...except it's HMM (Home Made MEAD)

another thing i'd like to add about brewing your own is that the feel/quality of booze is in fact a lot different from commercial stuff.

I guarantee that if you drink 1 liter of crappy 5% beer, and the the next night drink 1 liter of home made mead (5% at least, PM me for figuring out specific gravity) you will find that the mead will give you a very very pleasant buzz in comparison. Trust me.
