That is a pretty bold statement saying that engine life has doubled... If you can find the reason behind it I'd like to hear more

I know you cant pass emissions if your gas cap doesnt seal properly because you would be venting the fumes to the atmosphere. As far as I know the only reason that PCV is routed to the intake manifold is so that it doesnt vent fumes to the atmosphere and gives the vapor a chance to burn up in the combustion chamber resulting in a more emission friendly vehicle

Tech school FTL.

Forget everything they taught you and then you can start to learn.

...this is a correct statement.

Again, tech school FTL.

W0rd.

If your can is sealed with no breather on it or both ports are used then it's not letting any pressure escape. Vent to the ground.

Anyone have a clue as to how much air actually vents out from the crankcase? I can blow air thru the PCV but its relatively low volume... I cant imagine a ton of air actually coming out in a timely manner

true- in 1963 the average engine wouldnt go near as long without a rebuild as compared to an engine with an implicated pcv in place. The purpose of an actual pcv is to disgard harmful gas buildup in your engine to help longevity, as well as the oil comes through into the intake and through the head, releasing the mist of oil vapors lubricating the head from an area that generally has no other way of receiving this therefor increasing the longevity of ones engine.

It lubes the nonmoving intake manifold and coats it in oil.
your ------- dumb because you do not understand how it works.
It was put in motors for emmision only

using the pcv on a boosted motor is harmful but thats another thread. I thought it was for emissions only also
