my brother has a 2000 scooter, bored out to 70cc, twin loop exhaust, 22mm carb, carbon fiber drive belt, uni filter, ari intake manifold, 100mph speedo, crotch rocket signal lights, aftermarket tail lights and ferring, and a custom all chrome body. It will hit about 60-70mph.

Re: who here has a street bike?

Yea I kitted my moped to 70cc and put this tight italian exhaust on it. Stock it went 27, now goes about 47

I'd reccomend not getting a heavy ass Kanotuna

Re: who here has a street bike?

katana= bad they are not fast, they are carburated, they are heavy steel frames where all other crotch rockets are aluminum. A katana 600 is about 95 lbs heavier than a gsxr 600

Re: who here has a street bike?

Rice rockets are fast and all.. But there not comfortable at all for riding. If I were to get a bike it would be like a Harley, or something along those lines. Now thats a bike.

I fitted a 75cc 4 stroke horizontal lawnmower engine to a bicycle when I was 14, that thing was a lot of fun.

Make sure you order a really expensive clutch for it before you buy it. :P

^^^ I was actually going to recomend a zx6r. Damn nice bikes. I loved mine, till it went away via no good thieves.

Im currently riding a Suzi rf600r, nice bike, but not too much for an enthusiest. Next up will be an R6. Sexy, sexy little bitch!

Re: who here has a street bike?

scott, please dont get a katana. I suggest a yzf, cbr, the ninja or a gsx-r. fuel injection is your freind. the above bike is a killer deal too.

I got a 93 GSXR 750. Its my first bike and I've had it since last summer. I am ready for something newer, I've been lookin at Suzuki SV650, which is a V-twin half-fairing sport-tourer. Here's some pics of my bike and a pic of the SV650 that I want.

Re: who here has a street bike?

I'm heading to the the bike store tomorrow to look/buy at a leftover 04' Suzuki GSXR750. I've been pondering about getting one for almost a year now. Debating so long because I wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do. You only live once, right. Insuring it here will cost me approx. $780 a year. That's with liability, $500 ded., and $2000 medical coverage.

Re: who here has a street bike?

don't get the katana, you'll want something faster in about 3 months. i haven't ridden mine in almost three months, because i need something faster. its fun to ride, but comes with shitty tires and its heavy as balls

Thanks, I like it. I got it for a steal, $1800. The guy I bought it from just got laid off and was hard up for cash so I exploited the situation. O0

Re: who here has a street bike?

I had a cbr600. It was fun for a while....but after three surguries (wear a helmet), road rash, and many shatterred bones, I know I probably wont have a bike for a very long time, if I do it will be my dads new Fatboy. Harleys are badass

Be careful, I know alot of dead kids and almost dead ones including me (not my fault) bikes are dangerous and 80% of the crashes Ive seen were cause by people in cars not the actual riders.

dont get a katana

Re: who here has a street bike?

I had a 00 CBR 600F4
key word being had....wipedit out wearing ONLY shorts shoes and a helmet...serves me right
i would go with an R6 or a gixxer750

or a handa black bird, its got VTEC

Re: who here has a street bike?

Katana's suck, I have heard people call them a great starter bike, but i have never ridden one that was more than mediocre. I bought a Honda VFR750F new in 95, it was a great handling bike, very comfortable, albiet not the fastest bike ever. V-4, single sided swingarm, nice sound, etc.... I rode it two different long trips that covered 11 different states. Sold it in like 2000 for a little over $4k. I can't remember what Yamaha my buddy has, it's an 04 and with the mods he has on it, it is putting out about 180hp. Thing is insanely fast, scary even. Bad part about it is, he has it modded because on the first day he got it, he dumped it (not his first bike though, it was his third) and knowing people at the dealership got him a good deal on some sick parts. I have thought about getting another bike, but another buddy has a 01 gsx-r 1000 with about 2000 miles on it, he says I can take it whenever I want, he gave me the keycode to his garage and told me where he hides the key ;D Anyway, I digress, don't buy some POS bike because it is what you can afford and don't buy the fastest thing out there if you have never had a bike. Half the people on here can't drive 4 wheels, the thought of them on 2 scares me :-\
