Who has had a problem with paypal?

Here's my current problem. I posted this on www.paypalsucks.com:

A friend of mine owned a company that built/refurbished phones. He recently moved onto real estate and knew I was short on cash so gave me a box of phones. It was just some plain phones, no battery, manual, or anything else. I put these on ebay and for a few days everything was going ok, sales were going good, and shipments were being delayed.

First ebay banned me, for "unauthorized 3rd party" account use. They closed all my listings and sent everyone that bought from me emails saying I was fraudulent and to open a dispute. I called them and got it resolved. The next day, the same thing. All listings were removed again, and everyone was emailed again that I was fraudulent. This caused quite a headache because I was getting people sending me threatening emails and talking about getting legal help. I got that resolved again, and this time they made sure it wouldn't happen again.

I started selling again. A guy wanted to buy 12 phones from me at once. I didn't want to do the transaction without a listing because I wanted there to be proof in case something went wrong. I made a listing for the 12 phones for $1300. About two days later, my account access became limited.

The same day, I got all the information together and faxed it to paypal. After about 3 days, I got a response saying that they now wanted an invoice showing proof that I owned the phones. How am I supposed to have an invoice for something that was given to me? I had him print me up an invoice with the old company letterhead and faxed it to them. Waited another 3 days and they responded saying that this time they wanted a better scan of the license and to end my disputes. The disputes were because I didn't refund people that I had promised to refund. I COULDN'T refund them because my limited access wouldn't allow me to. WTF?

I faxed them the better scan, as well as all the information about the disputes and told them I wanted to refund them. After another three days they sent a message that I needed to end my disputes. I called and explained everything to someone at paypal and they transferred me to a supervisor. He ended one of the disputes, it was being "reviewed" for almost 5 days even though the tracking number showed it was delivered and he signed for it. It showed all that before it even went into review, so why did it's status change to in review and why wasn't it settled after 5 days? The supervisor said that's the only one he could close and that I would have to email the rest of the information to resolution@paypal.com. As soon as I hung up I emailed the information. He said it should be resolved in 12 hours, but they have to say "24-48" just to be safe.

The next day I hadn't heard anything, so called paypal and asked about it's status. She told me to give it another day.

I waited another day and called again. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and they told me to send the information again. I told him that it was already sent twice, and he apologized and said that the information wasn't added to my report. He said he added it and to expect a response within 24 hours.

I waited another day, nothing. I called again. This time a woman spoke with me. She said I needed to email them the information. I told her I had sent it 3 times already, and she said there wasn't any record of it, so to send it again. She said it would be resolved in 24-48 hours and she would be looking for it. I sent it a FOURTH time!!! I made sure to attach the previous two emails as proof that it's been sent numerous times.

There started out with $5000 in the paypal account, and now it's down to $3600 because people are all disputing. I now have a lot of disputes on ebay because I'm unable to pay them. I was supposed to make a downpayment on a house 2 weeks ago but couldn't because paypal locked up some of the money I was going to use, so there's money and a chance I lost. My ebay feedback is going down the toilet because I am unable to refund or make payments like I should. I'm tired of "waiting one more day," so what should I do???

Thanks

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I'm seriously about to get a lawyer.

Do it. Paypal is so full of bullshit they won't do anything unless they are under serious pressure.

Paypal sucks ass.

They did the same thing with me. I had a problem and they kept putting me off and saying they didn't have the info etc. I got passed around over and over again and no one took ownership of my problem.

In the end there was nothing I could do other than just give up. I don't have the cash to get a lawyer.

I haven't had any problems with paypal but then again the highest dollar item I've ever sold was about $350 on ebay... That worried me enough but everything was fine.

Your account never got out of limited usage?

What's upsetting me about paypal is they're dicking me over too, since jorsher cant pay me for the auction he won right now. He was hoping it'd be resolved... I just double checked my paypal to make sure there wasnt a balance left there; im not leaving it for them to steal :S

I found this out on paypalsucks.com. They have hidden in their TOS that after 180 days you can get a check with all the money in your account. They were sued not too long ago for having $5.1 million in their account from locked accounts that they never returned the money from. I'm sure I can find a lawyer that will get this worked out, it seems like a simple case to me. Paypal fucked me over and owes me money.

Re: Who has had a problem with paypal?

I got into it with them just recently.

They're shitbags for sure. I tried filing a dispute for $29.50 because some guy stiffed me out of a World of Warcraft leveling service. I didn't even know it was against WoW TOS, and I was going on vacation so I figured I'd get somebody to play my account while I was gone.

Their website says no accounts have ever been closed. I check their phone number and it's registered to somebody in Newark, NJ or something. So I order.

Come back from vacation and my account is closed. WTF pissed. E-mailed blizzard, still haven't heard back from them (been almost 2 weeks) but they sent me an e-mail to tell me they got my e-mail. E-mailed the service...long story short turns out they're located in China and no matter how much I keep asking them for a refund they just tell me that Blizzard will give me my account back.

I say no, they won't. Give me a refund, that's all I want. They finally agree, but then the stupid fucks tell me they can only refund me for the amount of time the guy leveling my character couldn't work because my account got banned halfway through him leveling. I say that's bullshit and I'm filing a dispute.

Seriously 120 seconds after I file the dispute an auto-response from their paypal e-mail responds to paypal with a sap story like they'll get it fixed and let us know about the problem. Paypal closes the dispute 2 minutes after it's filed and says they only deal with shipping errors and it will be resolved through the company I purchased from.

And I can't re-open the dispute. Next step for me is to file a dispute with my credit company. If that doesn't work I'll find out who their webspace provider is and let them know they offer a service that violates Blizzard's terms of service and they should be deleted to avoid legal action from Blizzard.

---- paypal.

Off Paypal and on MMORPG's Why bother having the account not to play it yourself? When I played EQ and DAoC people did that ---- alot. I dont get it?

I had one dispute via paypal and it was resolved quite quickly. Occasionally if I use paypal, they'll call me to make sure I was the one that did it. Seems decent that way. I also try not to buy from just "anybody."

Speaking of MMORPG's, who's up for some GW(original) or WoW?

I just got off the phone with supervisor number 5. Actually was helpful...but...said it could take another 48-72 hours. Seems like it'll actually get resolved this time but I'm not getting my hopes up quite yet.

If its more than your willing to lose then dont pay without a CC. You can also use paypal with a credit card and pay that way. Just like how I got burned.

PWn by Wow, and Ebay thought you were selling hot or junk phones.

Consider the money you paid for WoW farming gone, along with your Blizzard account.

D2 LOD/WC3 TFT/SC, but never will I pay to play WoW.

Ebay isn't the problem, paypal is. And yes I know that they are the same company. But, paypal didn't even know what the transaction was for. They just said the $1300 transaction was "suspicious activity" and I had to provide a tracking number, which I did, for the items that were shipped overnight. So, they've dragged this on for over 2 weeks for something that should have (never happened) been resolved the next day.

Ok, I got a ------- response from Paypal already. Wow, it didn't take 24-48 hours. Amazing what happens when a supervisor sends it instead of me. Well here's the response:

I already stuck it in Blizzard's and Wal-Mart's ass. I kept the original boxes and everything inside of them along with the receipt down to the bag I bought it in just in case anything like this happened. Took that ---- back into Wally world and said look, these discs were all fuckered up can I get the same exact thing.

Why sure you can.

Suck on that one, Blizzard.

What really peeves me is that Blizzard makes hundreds of millions each month off of their monthly payments, paid server transfers, etc...but it takes them 12+ days to respond to my e-mails and there's no phone number for that department.

Re: Who has had a problem with paypal?

I called the pieces of ---- again today.

The first chic I talked to, I told I needed to escalate the call. I told her that she was full of ---- (in nicer words) because she isn't the president of the company. She decided to hang up.

Called back, told the next girl that I sent complaints to the attorney general in nebraska and california (where their offices are located), filed a complaint with the BBB (this is the only thing I really did), and contacted an attorney about possible legal action. Unsurprisingly, "due to your contact with the attorney general, I would like to escalate this call to our executive support team." WOW, so magically in 5 minutes a complete new department was formed that didn't previously exist! I talked to that guy, he said it'll get resolved in about an hour. WOW, so I don't have to wait 24-48 hours (he said it could take up to 30 days for the account review team, omgwtfgtfo!).

He gave me the number to his desk and said I'll be contacted back in about an hour.

Moral of the story: if you're being fucked by paypal, tell them you contacted the attorney generals in their residing states. They don't like that.

Thats where you fucked up. Next time I sign up for paypal I WILL NOT upgrade. When you upgrade it means you now accept credit card payments. Meaning if I buy something from you, recieve it, I can call my credit card company up to 6 months later and say it was fucked up or anything I want, I will get my money back, and you will be fucked. Yeah it ------- blows. It already happend to me with something I sent and 2 1/2 months later the ----- calls and said something to her CC company. She got her cash back and I got a sweet negative paypal balance.

Got anything for sale by the way??
I can pay with paypal! >:D
