Re: Who has graduated college?

UTI and Wyotech are just like any other school. You only get out what you are willing to put in to it.

I went to Wyotech specificaly for the Chassis Fab class but you have to take one of the core auto programs. I can say that I learned quite a bit while in the core Automotive program but I learned way more in the Fab program.

:y :y I saw that alot. I didn't ---- around when we were at school. I wanted to get my money's worth while I was there.

Worked as a used auto tech fro about two years and got laid because of slow sales. I was making house payment sized sized tool payments. I had a lot of fun while I was there. I was kind of pissed when they let me go because of the fact that I was teaching the guy accross from me how to do things and help troubleshoot when he had 6+ yaers experience.

I ended up working at an envelope manufacturing plant. Started out as a trainee completely new to the industry and within 6 months I had moved up to the fastest and 2nd newest and 2nd most expensive machine in the plant. I worked there with a few other friends for a while and we kinda ruled that place. Advanced in pay by $5 an hour within 2.5 years. I was pretty cool at first but ---- just kept going down hill. I miss my machine.

Boith of these jobs were fun in their own ways but I want something with more a future.

Now I am the slacker that is just starting his Engineering degree at 24. :1 4 years to go woohoooo!

this is a pretty good thread.

I went to drexel university for a year before drugs/drinking convinced me to go to camden county college where i get free tuition. Im still working on getting my associates in applied science (mech engineering major) and i dont know where im going after that.

Most of my "car" friends would never expect it, but im a manager at Banana Republic. Pretty homo ish but they pay me pretty well.

Re: Who has graduated college?

I jumped around in my undergrad work. I was a philosophy major, Mechanical Engineering for a bit, and finally finished with a degree in History from Hofstra University. After graduated I started working as a computer tech for a large insurance company yet I had no certs, only a few programming classes like FORTRAN, cobalt, qbasic, :-\ and minor vb and html ----. :P

I worked for a year and then went to night school to finish up my masters in teaching to become a high school social studies teacher. The only problem was that I couldn't do my student teaching and have a job to pay the rent at the same time so I'm not going to finish up the masters work until later on in life.

I love what I do, yet at my current job I am not getting paid well for what I know. I'll take my knowledge elsewhere in a year or two and earn a lot more.

One of my father's degrees is in philosophy, but he didn't want to teach, which is about all you can do with a philosophy degree.

You got it...that's why I got out asap because those jobs are very hard to find around my area. We really don't have high school philosophy teachers, but everyone has a social studies/history teacher.

I'm a nerd. When i watch tv, which is rare, it's discovery, speedvision, or any of the history channels.

I have a lot of friends that WERE accounting majors. Most had finance minors or went back for their MBA's and are now doing finance ---- making 6 figures. But they're also the ones that i rarely see on the weekends because they're doing the ---- that they couldn't do all week when they are at their desk for 14hours a day.
Do I think it's worth it? Hell no. I'd rather work less and have a life besides work.

I did a Tech school after getting bounced out of college and got bounced out of that too for not taking the ---- seriously. It was GMASEP General Motors Automotive Excellence Program, it was pretty good, had to take college classes and maintain a job at any GM dealership which the school hooked you up with, not really, all they did was give me names and numbers I still had to get hired on my own.

I'm in my last class for a Business managment degree from University of Phoenix, they blow dick, but they are accredited and government is footing the bill otherwise I would not have done it.

Re: Who has graduated college?

I earned an MS in chemistry about 3 years ago.

I first started working as an adjunct professor. It was alright for a while but it got old pretty quick. Grading exams, lab reports, writing lesson plans... Took most of my time but I never got paid for it.

Now I do research in organic synthesis at the same college. I like it much better. I’m back in the lab, getting my research published and I find it more interesting.

I’m going back to school for my PhD. It’s a good deal. No tuition and you get paid.
