It's just the wagon drivetrain, right down to the $500 viscous coupler that burns out like clockwork.

I know but the wagovans rear trailing arms are about 2 inchs longer then my hatches, I shortened a pair but the upper mount is out by alot and I'm not happy the way they turned out, If the 4dr's are the right lenth, well you get the pic.

Huh. Now that is some interesting ----.

You think you might be able to get just the suspension arms and have everything else work?

Isn't rudebwoy in that neck of the woods?

Ya I dont know if they would swap in or not or match up with the wagovan's driveshafts but I bet they would. I can use mine but the toe is out on one side and I just dont like them, I was super rushed when I did them :-\

Re: Who is in Europe and knows were to find one of these for parts??

That pick is 1/2 wago and 1/2 hatch with a overlap because the wagovan is longer in two places (before and after the bushing) The upper mount is the big problem because it is about 2 inches higher. I can fix these but I would like some og hondas that bolt right in.

My wago has been flogged hard for about a year on boost, sure its clutch slips at times, but its seen some serious abuse.
Tranny not doing anything weird yet.
Ill hold my final opinion until it has a real clutch and some alone time with the FTL.

<---already has a spare tranny & rear diff on the deck.

JD is talking about the viscous coupler in the middle of the propellor shaft/ driveline.

I have wondered what the RT4wd drove like when it was new. My car spins the front wheels for at least a second before the rear wheel start to engage. I have wondered if/how much the shims in that coupler have worn.

One of the wagon guys in eastern WA has replaced the stock propellor shaft/viscous coupling BS, with a custom solid propellor shaft, and put in phantom grip LSDs in the F&R diffs. True 50/50 AWD. I would really like to see how that car drives. I would also like to see how long the rear diff and axles hold up.

Wagons have longer trailing arms than all other EFs. The 2wd wagon and rt4wd wagon have the same length arms. CRXs, hatchs, and sedans all have the same length arms. I would think those RT4wd sedan trailing arms would work killer for you highroller.

Re: Who is in Europe and knows were to find one of these for parts??

I bet that guys wagon only works good in the gravel or snow, he doesn't have anything to controll drivetrain windup. In otherwords no slip at all, like a 4x4 on dry pavement but with weakish parts.

My wagovan that I'm driving right now (I bought it for extra parts) has a newly rebuilt coupler in it and the fronts wont spin at all, it kicks in too quick ;)

Re: Who is in Europe and knows were to find one of these for parts??

I'd be tempted to get rid of the coupler and run a solid driveshaft... or a rotoflex coupling if you want to minimize intial drivetrain shock on the weak-ish rear end.

Re: Who is in Europe and knows were to find one of these for parts??

I dont know what a roto-flex is but I thought about trying a solid driveshaft but I just can see it working on the street, awd always has something that will alow slippage to compensate foor driveline windup and 4x4's arn't for dry pavement but who knows without trying ;)

Re: Who is in Europe and knows were to find one of these for parts??

Some BMW guys call rotoflex couplings "gee-BOWS." I suspect they do this because it sounds extraordinarily gay.

BMW 1600/2002 used them as a vibration damping flex point in their driveshafts, other BMWs may have as well. I had a couple Triumphs that used them as a flex point in the rear IRS/halfshafts. Basically a rubber donut.

I thought thats what you were talking about but that will only take up the "shock" not windup. My co-workers rollsroyce had one two.

Re: Who is in Europe and knows were to find one of these for parts??

Shock is what damages weak drivetrain, just like sudden hammering jolts from high freq detonation you can't hear breaks ringlands and hammers upper rod bearing shell against the crankshaft.

There are some people running stock D-series differentials - know weak piles of ---- - in 10 and 11 second cars with success. Whereas Mista Bone shatters them in flat 15 second cars by launching too hard instead of slipping the clutch a hair to avoid sudden shock before raw dogging it.
