Re: Who else conceal carries???

ohk, ive seen these arguments before and this is the best way to think about it.

you carry your gun in the unlikely event that you will need to use it. well in this unlikely event (that usually happens at less than 10ft) what if the person attacking you is grabbing your arm, or they hit you in the shoulder with a baseball bat etc. i carry my SA 1911 cocked and locked, all the time, the only time my gun doesnt have a round in the chamber is if im showing it to someone or im cleaning it. if someone is mugging me do you think id be able to pull my gun, put a mag in it and rack it before the attacker is all over it too fighting for it? ---- no! keep it loaded or else start practicing pulling the slide back with your teeth cause you may just have to do that if you ever have to defend yourself. think about it this way, your about to whoop this guys ass, and you see him pull a gun and a mag, you gonna give him the chance to load it and shoot you? :S

Right, that's becuase a 1911 is designed to be carried cocked and locked with the grip & thumb safety. It will not fired until released from that condition, and it's not going to release by itself.

CoreyR, some DA/SA pistols (Like mine) have a manual safety instead of a decocker. These are designed to be carried cocked and locked.
Your Sig P239 does not have a manual safety. It's designed to be carried in condition 2:
Round in chamber, hammer uncocked

i understand that, and im sure the chances of an accidental fire are very slim. i just prefer to not carry chambered. to each is own i guess.
