Who else conceal carries???

Re: Who else conceal carries???
Yeah, I understand the chances are extremely small for me blowing my jewels off. However, the chances of me actually needing it are just as small. The extra 1-4 seconds I may need to pull out the weapon, snap in the magazine, and **** it. The way I see it, if they're close enough to where that extra couple seconds matters, than it doesn't matter if it's loaded or not.
I'd just prefer the peace of mind all the time that some freak accident won't happen, than be 2 seconds ahead of the game with a loaded handgun. I'm glad you're "tough and ballsy," toysrme. Maybe I'm the tough one for not needing to have my gun loaded to feel secure? noob :P

i dont see the need for not having a loaded mag in the gun, the chances of it chambering a round by itself are 0. i always keep the gun loaded, but not chambered. if you cant rack a round between the time you you grab the weapon and have it aimed at someone, you shouldnt be carrying cause youre too slow anyways.

Aww man, all this talk about shooting nuts off is giving me that un-easy feeling in my stomach. You know like when you see a kid in take a football to the sack and it hurts you inside just watching it...that's how I feel about the direction this thread took.
That was polished and well versed. I bet that took every last neuron/axon firing all at once to come up with.

The reason you want a self defense pistols to be ready to fire is so that you can use it as a gun and not a club. Consider for yourself the average self defense shooting is well under 30 feet, and the majority of the shootings are at 5-9 feet.
I got news for ya a fat *** like Hotrex dieing a slow death of hepatitis & unchecked gonorrhea can cover that kind of distance while choking on a shoe before you can ready an unready gun.
Just food for thought against being unchambered and un loaded...
Sounds more like someone carrying a gun to one-up people and eventually get arrested (for brandishing) or killed (for it not being useable in time). You pull a gun out and someone should be stopped or dead not mis a step when they see it drawn, only to continue on seeing a magazine being dug out of pockets lol!

Re: Who else conceal carries???
tosyrme is actually making some sense. I dont like carrying a single action gun with one in the hole without an external saftey, aka glock's and the like. Which is why I carry a revolver, 5 rounds should be enough to get the job done, and 5 is better than none. And i'll never have to worry about accidental discharge.

Ya i tend too on and off if you look for it :P
Well in regards to SA 1911's and the like. Sounds more dangerous than it is. The gun will not cycle without the safety being off and you wouldn't want the hammer down on the striker god forbid a gun was dropped, hit, etc. Some DA/SA's can be carried as such. I preffer it as you get the better trigger pull being a SA while you STILL need to let the safety loose AND pull the trigger to fire it.
DAO many times have no safety (or they do but located on the trigger). You pull the trigger, it shoots. Good choice if you've never been around guns and question your ability to remember anything under stress.
I like revolvers too. If someone threw me a random gun and I had to take a shot Id rather it be a revolver. No question about it cycling its ammunition. I've been around enough semi-autos to know they may or may not feed, fire or extract cycle some brands/types. *Especially* when new! Advice for anyone into semi-auto's for actual self defense instead of random nagrog gun play. Better shoot a brick or two through it before you carry it! Don't carry no "I shot 100rds" and proclaim it reliable.
