who all has boosted on a base map??( and i searched but it didnt work)
ok i just sent my ecu to xeno to get it chipped and there are no tuners around here that do te so untill i find some one i will be driving my daily on a base map...my ? is how bad would it be to boost on it untuned its going to be 7psi on a b20z just looking for people who have done it..and yes i know the right thing to do would be get it tuned but untill i find someone to tune it im a standstill

not having any tune is bad to begin with. some run the afc hack and get away with it, but if your going to run 7 psi or more a tune will be needed. if im right your obd1 with that b20? if so look into chrome pro and start experimenting. once you get enough experience then you can even tune in your area on others cars to make some cash. its much better to learn on your own so you can tune your own car whenever you make changes.

i drove my car on 8psi untuned for awhile. not saying it is the best or smartest thing but it "can" be done, just remember that your untuned while driving it. i woul dget on mine a little but not as much as i did when i was finally tuned.

i put a lot of thought and research into my basemap though. i looked at the xeno write-up and got some advice from a few tuning OG's on here.
i think it was **** who told me that with my z6, at 3000rpm and 5psi i should be at like 15* timing, so i just adjusted the map around 14*at that point, just to be safe. then in other areas i smoothed out the map here and there, mostly retarding timing, to make nice curves. then with the new injectors i used the crome wizrd thing, but when i put in the pressure i put it a few psi below stock so everything was a little more rich.
so far i havn't had a problem.
but i still don't like to put a load on it, like 40 in 5th and holding it. i just don't think that would be a good idea. don't know if it really matters, but i just don't do it.
i was gonna put a link to that write-up but i can't find it. i thought it was on pgmfi, but i can't get to the site, sorry. it was really informative too

well anymore info would be great i just would hate to blow my motor to soon would like to have a little fun that and my wife would kill me...

Pretty much what it comes down to is running rich is better than running lean, this is why I got a wideband, because as long as I can monitor my AFR's I'll be safe.
