where to get steel mesh for HMT project (air filter)

Just get two collanders or noodle strainers, and put a some gauze in the middle. Thats what i did for a while.

I use screen door mesh, My sister was throwing out her screen door because the cat put some holes in it, so I cut out the whole thing and saved it, I've used it several times, and still have 6x6 feet of this ---- left, ha ha.

I'm sure any local hardware store sells repair kits.

Two of these

Line the inside of one with gauze, and stack the other one on the inside so that way the car wont suck the gauze in. Now, you have a long ***** looking thing that has more surface area than just a screen

that last link didn't work man

oh yeah jeff, didn't you know that you can repair (most) screen doors? Can buy the replacement screens and this rubber cord ----, then use this little wheel tool to throw them back together.

thanks man, I already had something similar in mind.. just going to goto the dollar store and sacrafice a strainer.

man that's a shitty strainer compared to the ---- I have back at home

preciate guys, i'm antoine by the way. I managed to beat up a couple of pipes and call it an intake tho. I also managed to fit my Weapon R air filter right underneath the battery tray, above the front crossmember and in front of the tranny. I'll post pix a little later just remind me if i don't get back to the thread...once again preciate all the responses and i'll pass the info to others on the HMT intake filter
