Ben there done that. Having an intuitive/thinking style personality renders you incapable of having faith in something, as it must have a logical, truthful awnser for it to be accepted. You have the intuitiveness, but its paired with the feeling over thinking.

By definition God is the uncreated creator of the universe... so you'd be basically asking me "so who is the single guy married to" It just doesn't work that way.

I know you're going to ask me "well if the universe has a cause, then why doesn't God have a cause?"

Basically, here's an example.

The universe, has a beginning, no? We can agree on that?

Everything that has a beginning has a cause. A tree grew because a seed was planted.

There's a casue to the universe beginning (whether you believe it to be God's work or the big bang or whatnot).... The universe has a beginning, therefore it has a cause.

By definition, God creating the universe created time, since if you think about it, the universe having a beginning was the beginning of a time range.

Therefore, if God created time, he is above time, and has no beginning. (confusing as hell, aint it)

It confuses me too. oh well.

to bukkake,

i decided to google a webpage because i dont feel like typing anymore hahaha

What Christians believe about ...
The Trinity

Tricycle, triplets, triangle, tripod - all have something to do with 'three'. Christians believe in a God who is a Tri nity, who is 'Three-in-One', both 'three' and 'one' at the same time.

The Bible, Deuteronomy chapter 6 verse 4 tells us 'the Lord our God, the Lord is One.'

That means there is only one who is God. He is unique: there's no-one and nothing else like him. And that's the problem! Because he's different from everyone and everything else, we can never look at something and say 'That's exactly what God is like!'

So God is 'One', but he's also 'Three'. The words in the The Bible, Matthew chapter 28 verse 19 tells us to use when new Christians are baptized are 'in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit'. When you think about it, that's a bit odd! It says 'name' ... one name because it's one God these people have come to trust in. But they speak of this one God as three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, because that's the way he's introduced himself in the Bible.

The problem comes when you try to get your head round all that! Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all fully God. You can't say that each one is 1/3 rd of God, and add them up, 1/3+1/3+1/3=1. But, when you put Father and Son and Holy Spirit together, 1+1+1 doesn't make 3! In this case 1+1+1=1!

But, you see, we shouldn't be too surprised if we can't understand God's 'make-up'. He's God, so he's bound to be more complicated than you or me. What would be suspicious would be for someone to tell us God was no more complex than we are.
The Father - Thinking of God as a father can be difficult, because human fathers are not perfect. But Christians believe God is like a perfect father - loving, faithful, just, caring, our provider and protector - willing even to sacrifice his only son for us.

triangle

The Son - sometimes described in the Bible as the Good Shepherd - the shepherd protects and cares for his sheep, even giving his own life to save them.
The Holy Spirit - often described in the Bible as a wind. Like the wind, you cannot see the Holy Spirit, but he can be felt and he has power. Christians believe this power source helps them to live a Christ-like life.

The Bible says Jesus taught his followers to understand and accept this teaching about God. He commanded that new Christians should be baptised "in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." (The Bible, Matthew chapter 28 verse 19).

What the Bible says about the Father:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." (The Bible, John chapter 3 verse 16)

What the Bible says about the Son:
Jesus said, "I am the good shepherd ... I lay down my life for the sheep." (The Bible, John chapter 10 verses 14 - 15)

What the Bible says about the Holy Spirit:
"When the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." (The Bible, Galatians chapter 5 verse 22)
cliffs notes: Basically God introduces himself as God the father, God the son and God the holy spirit...

IMO its VERY hard to find someone to have a professional conversation with. they always end up getting defensive and uptight ******** ive never found anyone willing to open up and get into a religious debate with me without ------- up our freindship

i.e. one girl i told her about one of our stories where god destroyed an entire city cause they disobeyed him by lifting a rock and dropping it ontop of the entire city..

her reply

"our god wudnt do that.. he would never kill that many people like that.. he's forgiving"

(notice she said "our god" i still say the christian god and the muslim god is the same god.. then people come up with the moon god ---- :1 s)

my reply was: what about noahs ark :1

bam.. so yea.. id be glad to have a religious conversation with anyone who can hold a professional conversation.

oh, ad theres no way in hell u can convince an athiest that god exists.

Convincing an atheist God exists would be like an atheist convincing me that God does not exist. Ain't gonna happen.

But buk, i don't know what story you're talking about but I agree with you. Noah's ark is a good example; he rid the world of all but 1 family because of the rest of the world's wickedness. They turned their back on God and he dealt with them accordingly.

Should see me trying to talk to my cousin Chris. He tells me

"There is no God, you're an idiot"

And I go... well I believe there is one. Disprove me. Or better yet, tell me what you believe.

"I believe in Evolution"

okay, why?

"Because... its TRUE! and you're WRONG!"

It's hard to have a conversation like that without people getting upset. I tried asking him about it once a few years back riding back from my grandmas house and he got all defensive and teared up and got out of the car and walked a mile back to my house, since he apparently couldn't even stand the thought of a God existing. :1

I only believe in things that could possibly be true. When I was young I went to church and they told me "God fed 9829238405838 people with one loaf of bread and a bottle of crystal." That was the point when I asked if we could play dodgeball yet.

asalamalaka my *****.

It was Jesus feeding 5000 people... and he broke five loafs of bread and two fish... it's called a miracle steve. If he was God in the flesh he could do just about anything, dontcha think? If this guy made the universe i'm sure he could pull up his sleeves and make food multiply out of nowhere.

I'm going to bed, if anyone wants to:

1) Ask me about my beliefs
2) Tell me I'm a doo doo head for my beliefs
3) Or anything else regarding this

just pm me, ill get back to ya :P
