Where do you nogs buy pistons? Trying to get a deal...

Looking at trying to price out some pistons, wondering if you guys had suggestions on where else to look.

So far I've emailed a few people and some honda-tech sponsors...

What I am looking for is one of a couple pistons. The first is a JE piston, #185919 with JG1004-3307 ringset. The next one (once I find specs and see if its what we're lookin for) is a CP Piston, part #SC7017.

If anyone knows of good places to pick these up, let me know.

If you've got the time to wait around, I always like searching the HT for sale forum for people that were going to build a motor but are now out of money. People in bad situations give good prices, and I'm all about capitalizing on thier misfortune. >:D

Amen. I spent maybe a year piecing together my tubo kit when I could have done it in less than a month. I wasn't in a hurry and got hooked up because of it.

yeah unfortunately tho, an 84mm pistons thats gonna yield a desirable compression ratio in a b17 isn't too common. That and we'd like to have this motor in the car early september. The Arias set we have now put us at like 8.2:1 or somewhere near there, kinda sucks.

8:1 = lots of power on pump gas! This for Mike's car?

Correction, you mean lots of boost on pump gas...have to run plenty just to make up for the shitty compression, plus the bottom end would be a total dog.

Yep, 84mm sleeved action.

Whatever, more boost and more power. 84mm sounds nice. :)

P.S. Go put my car back together, I'm lazy...

call up wiseco and ask them what they can do for you. My brother in law actually talked to the owner like twice and he gave hiim the piston set that would work exactly for what he wanted. then when you get a part number call these guys and tell them shane or jake told you to call they hooked us up before.I wanna say like 375 for pistons and rings http://www.hybridconnection.com/

Earl just quoted me 495 for a nice set that will yield us 9:1, might run that.

No, BBKA Nog had it right the first time. Bigger combustion chamber means you can fit more in it before it hits the critical density that leads to detonation.

Jeff pegged it with Roadracenegineering, and if you have a tax ID last I checked Arias will get you 84mm slugs with rings and wrist pin for $450 plus ship.
