Where do I get a USB driver for my phone?
 

I ordered a USB cable to connect a cell phone to my computer and the god damn thing doesn't come with any CD to install the driver so I can use it. ::) >:( I looked all over hell and back and can't seem to find anything that works. This is really pissing me off. I don't know why they can't just include the god damn driver with the cable. >:(

The phone is a Samsung SHP-A680 and here is the cable:

you can download the prolific driver from pgmfi.org, that's the same driver we have to use to use the cell phone cables for data logging ;)

My computer knows the phone is connected and recognizes it, but I don't have a driver to do anything with it. Like I said, I've searched all over and couldn't find the right one. I downloaded one and the phone said it was in "modem mode" or some ---- and it wouldn't let me do anything. ???

I'll look for that driver on pgmfi.org.....

Try www.driverguide.com ...that's where i get most of my drivers when i build my computers and stuff. They have a tone of stuff on there. You have to register, but they always give you the same user name and password for some reason... Username:driver2 Password:all

I have a samsung E715 with Infrared so I bought an irda dongle for my computer. Therefore I don't need a cable because I can just use the infrared. Then I DLed the software(GPRS) from samsung's website for my phone.

My phone is about a year old but I still love it. It's got a camera, flash, flashlight, and the infrared. I can export all my phonebook/pics/etc and other info to my computer so it'll be backed up.

If the computer picks up the phone then a usb driver is not needed because it's obviously seeing the phone. It just doesn't know what to do with the phone. I had the same problem.

They don't have english versions. >:( How ------- gay. It looks like it might work though, I just can't read it. ::)

My computer recognizes the phone, but yeah, it doesn't know what to do so wouldn't that mean I need a driver? ??? What kind of software would I need to do this with? I hate computers.....

None of that ---- will open for me. ??? It asks what to open it with and I don't know WTF to open it with. Where did you find them? Samsumg doesn't even list this phone on their site. ::) ------- homos. How can you make and sell a phone and not even list it on your website? >:(

you cant just open the files or run them like an installer.

right click my computer and go to properties

then go to devie manager tab, and get into the hardware section.

from there find the usb device with the ? on it, while the phone is connected, then right click it and follow thru the directions to update the driver. save those files to a folder on your hard drive and point the driver installer to that folder to search for the drivers.

should work.

im bad at working on computers over text and phone, put me in front of it and theres nothing i cant do.

I have a motorola V600 and my buddy had a motorola cable, but it did the same thing that yours does. I finally broke down and went to Best Buy and got a cell phone kit that does pretty much every phone with either a data-link, or IRDA port. Downside, it's like 60 bux :-X Sorry bout the driver link, i figured it might be worth a shot though. If ya ever need drivers for your pc though, that's the place to go ;)
