Alot of people have always asked mine, so here it is. It all started when I was 14, me and my buddy were heavily into warez/pirating software back then. We got involved with a guy who started a 5 node BBS that was strictly warez (and some porn). Anyhow he wanted me and my buddy both co-sysops of the place, He gave us both 2 names to use, AbaZ and Shadowgate. We helped run "The Mortuary" for a little bit then at 17 I created my own personal BBS "blackONblack" odd name, but it was also a warez bbs, running from home on 3 lines (100 or so users). Shortly after the feds caught on shut down the Mortuary and I freaked out and also shut down mine. I never got in trouble but I will never deal with warez again. I used the handle AbaZ for over 10 years, and my buddy Jacob who runs newtiburon.com also still uses his Shadowgate handle.
