Default where to buy a windsheild

well a while back a punched my windsheild in anger and all but put a hole in it. its cracked from side to side and top to bottom
now that i am getting my car back on the road i need a windsheild

called honda and they want $400. i have a friend that works in VA but its a 2hour drive round trip and they wont accept CC over the phone from out of state. even though i get adeal through him i would have to drive there twice, so its not much cheaper in the end for a lot more hassle.

is there any type of aftermarket glass makers?? i called a bunch of places around me (Frederick MD) and they all said dealer only

edit: its a 91 hatch if that matters

Are honda windscreens bonded in?

My mates and i have replaced a few windscreens now, go down to a scrapyard with a pack of razor blades and cut the seal away, then push out the glass.

Getting the screen in is different for different cars, if honda's are bonded in, its a pro job really (though you can buy the bonding compound). On cars where its not bonded, using string, washing up liquid and some water, you can sorta pull the seal out of the way as you push in the replacement screen.

Damn too bad you are no where near me. I got a connection for brand new glass. I had to replace the windshield on my EJ1 and it cost me $120 canadian with a tube of urethane, guy even dropped it off..

cant think of any places around us tweek. Got my pops rig replaced and the dodge's replaced, and both were factory buys.

On a side note, if you do it yourself most are a bitch to get in

most glass shops should have them. my work deals with tons all over the world. for rv windshields, van conversion glass. there is most likely a safelite auto glass around your area, i would call them, or harmon auto glass.

There are a coulpe junkyards somewhat close to you where you may be able to find one. Crazy Ray's has two locations. One in Baltimore and one in Jessup. They have very good rates and i think they even pull windshields for you.
