Default wheel and tire combo??

well i've had my el cheapo white 17's for two years now and the front two tires are showing threads. i've heard that as much as a 1/2 second 1/4 mile can be picked up with some 15's.

i could probably get $250-$300 for my current wheels so that will help. i really like the rota slipstreams and subzero's. i've heard good stuff about the falken azenis tires but wanted to know anyone else's opinion on this.

btw, how's handling on 15's compared to 17's

i went from 17's to 15's and will never look back again. my car had some 17's when i bought it with some 40 series tires and it rode like ***. i got some gsr fat 5's with brand new nitto 450's for 300 bucks, best mod i've done to my car besides turbo of course now i can get brand new tires for about 50 bucks each as opposed to 100 and the car rides like a dream and handles just as well also.

the thicker they are the better ride they are. also the smaller the rim size the less power it takes to rotate them.

I went with my 16's as a compromise between the good looks of the 17's and the less power to rotate of the 15's

that would be more likely as of the weight difference, not rolling diameter.

Actually diameter does matter. a 15 inch wheel and a 17 inch wheel weighing the exact same will show power loss on a dyno. Inertia does matter

yeah, but a 17" wheel with a 40 series tire has about the same diameter as a 15" wheel with a 50 series tire

Yes but the rotating mass is farther from the center. Again, inertia does make a difference
