Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

Bingo ghetto. There is a guy that is making custom bell housings that will bolt to a s2k motor and using the internals from a RSX 6 speed tranny. Cream away.

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

No ----? Damn, I have never even seen an S2000 block.

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

not that ill ever have enough even for the long block, but how much for the bellhousing?

OnYx 10-20-2003 09:47 PM

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

i dont know, its still in the "prototype" statge. the s2k motor wiht trans ECU and engine is $7000. I immagine it would be in hte $1200 range for just hte housing.

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

I was gonna say his exhaust gasket isn't on the motor. ??? What does all this mean for a guy with an 89 Hf? :D

greddycrx 10-20-2003 11:58 PM

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

so what you're saying is that soon we will be able to put a s2k motor in a civic/crx/teg?? at least if you have all the funds?? :o

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

I thought that it was a soch with a really trick valve cover but then the vtec selenoid is in the wrong place and the fuel presser regulator is also wrong. Then is was all fucked up and then I had no clue. But if I could afford that I would buy it. 240 hp without worries. Sigh :(

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

I dont think that thing will fit in a CRX, look where the diffiriental (sp?) sits, in the front instead in the back. For what car will this motor fit in? Probably in a RSX right?

turboboy 10-21-2003 12:27 AM

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

who says that has to be the front

OnYx 10-21-2003 12:29 AM

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

you can make it fit in any car. the exaust goes on the BACK of the motor VS the front where it normally sits. so flip the motore 180 deg. and there you have it

turboboy 10-21-2003 01:45 PM

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

good point, but i think thats the way they sit in an rsx, so it should work

turboboy 10-21-2003 05:27 PM

man, I feel like you guys corrupted me. I don't tend to know ---- about hondas, but I knew that was from an s2000 instantly. I feel like a tool.

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

Does this "guy" have a website where he plans on selling this? If so, does anyone have it? I think I'm gonna have to sell my son in order to buy that. Just kidding, but that would be a sweet ass setup in the EG coupe. I'd do a head and tail light conversion and call it a day. Well, after the turbo anyway, HMT style, cause I'm keepin it real, you know.

Why not? That doesn't seem like a bad idea. I would. ;) You could be the first to tell us how cool it is. :)

i'm happy to say that i noticed it right off the bat, it took only a second to register that the transmission wasn't quite as long as it should be.
heh

i feel the same way cua0 does, didnt see an output shaft outlet

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

I believe that application would be for a rsx ONLY. if anything at all. I bet it fits whatever tranny he uses. rsx tranny = rsx car. Remember where most of the mounts for an engine are.

that picture.. is a pic of the exhaust side of the head. which would also have to be the firewall side because of the tranny output. meanin the tranny is on the left side (USDM drivers side) meaning it will fit RSX and civic Si's only.

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

or you could just drive it in reverse (actually going forward) and have 6 reverse gears ::)

ahem... insight.
The point is however you can make any engine work in any car with the correct amount of knowhow and time.

crxrx7 10-22-2003 11:23 PM

Re:Whats wrong with this pict?

Just give it time. Some one will put on an older civic tranny so we can do that swap too! I think the only problem would be that the engine might turn the wrong way. Or just rip out the whole rsx suspention and ---- and weld it in. ha :D

S2000 EF STD, that'll be the day, I'll powdercoat the valve cover black, and take off the DOHC cover, and we'll see what the guys at the track say when they:

1. Hear this thing go to 9k in my hatch
2. Hear me shift 5 times!!!!!

That'll be the day, and oh what a day. ::)

I meant using that tranny. it wouldnt fit an EF/EG/EK because the engine would sit WAY to far back to align the axles correctly. on a rxs/new civic si, just spin the entire motor around and theoretically it should be alligned, if not close to it.
