What's the drag racing rules on fenders/hoods/bumpers? I got into an accident..
 

so i get knicked in the front a few days ago. i'm REALLY not happy about it, with the big high school drags coming up next friday. i replaced all of the front suspension components except the shocks/coilovers, since they were the only things not bent, so at least it drives straight. but I wanted to know if it was ok to race down the track without fenders, bumper (cover at least), and a hood. my hood is alright, just the hinges are bent, but my fenders and bumper cover are gone, and will need to be replaced. once i got the suspension ---- fixed we had to pound out my driver fender so the wheel could actually turn. right after the accident though my wheel had a good 45* negative camber, and some serious wheel tuckage.

here's how she's driving now.. get off me on the duct tape, it's supporting the bumper cover- not holding on the hood. i don't give a ---- how it looks, it drives straight and if i can im runnin at the drags.

i only have liability.. ------- old guy apprently didn't see my car nudging out due to the ILLEGALLY PARKED mail truck next to the schools driveway :7

I doubt they'll let you on the track like that. I'm almost completely sure they won't.

yea i didn't think so.. but i mean, would they let me run without fenders or bumper? the hood is fine and latches like a pro

it's considered my fault because i was entering traffic :l and whether it would or not, telling my insurance i was in an accident would probably get us dropped. mom was in an accident that almost considered her 02 civic totalled just like 6 months ago

i was actually thinkin about tryin to weld the hood and fenders together + bondo and paint and make a ghetto 1 peice front. LOL

some tracks will let you run with the front bumper if nothing else falls off but that's highly doubtfull cus some techs are dicks like that and you should just go to the yards to get parts.

yea basically i've been thinking, chop off the core support (weight reduction anyone?) and the front chunk of the ---- the fender bolts onto, and just kinda wing-it on the front end. weld a bar here, throw on a couple tacks there.. good to go. couple junk fenders and a new $30 certifit bumper and im good to go

and actually after just looking at the pics there looks like the passenger fender is salvagable anyway, just gotta bang out the tip :8

just take it all off. tell them it's the new import retro hot rod open wheeled look. Then tell him don't be seen without it done cause if peeing your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis.

lol now that's funny you can also tell them your waiting for the one piece fiber glass front end and it just hasn't came in.

a hood flew off a mustang at the track last weekend and he was still alowed to race without one

last year a civic's ebay carbon fiber hood flew off at the end of the track.. like 200' into the air. shattered into a million peices. dont remember if he continued racing or not
