I'd pay a G for that, of coarse I would try 500 cash because he sounds desperate first then work your way up. I always make it seam like I dont really want the car when I buy it, there cheaper that way

You guys might remember my pos Sentra I had... anyways my Pap wanted a new car and the dealership said he'd take a trade in, so I offered my Sentra and got only $100 less than what I bought it for 
and he gave me most of the money that was taken off of the total amount of what he got off but not all of it. And I also owe my parents $1000 from a while back so I need to pay them first. I've almost got enough money to pay them back on hand right now, and if I buy this car instead of paying them back they'll flip (and I can't have them pissed at me considering I'm living here scott free right now)... so when he pays me I can pay them and buy the car.
