What you Blown engine Story.

So I crack my buds z6 open the other night. He blew it right before pulling it off the road for the winter. He was planning a b16 and then maybe turbo in a year.
I pulled the pan for him and did we ever find a HELL of a lot of metal shvings. I laughed my ass off when I say. So there we sat spinning the engine with a ratchet trying to find the prob. Saw nothing. But all of a sudden I accidentally hit rod #3. I found 1/8-3/16 inch travel in all drections

No wonder the sound of the engine running hurt the ears and I took 5-6 time of cranking to get the damn thing running.

my blown engine story involves a very deep puddle, a very low integra, and a very gay cold air intake.........

Re:What you Blown engine Story.

My engine blew last year, Feb. 4th. On my way up from college town to my home because my grandpa was dieing. (turns out he died before I even got there and my dad felt he needed to call and let me know while I'm on Interstate 5 driving like a nut to get home) I'm half way home, in the middle of Salem, for those of you who know where I'm talking about. Cruising along at 80, minding my own business, and bam. The car does a huge jerk forward, then just kinda dies as if you had stalled it or something. All the electricals were still on, but you knew the engine wasn't running. I looked in my rear view mirror to see if anything came off and I saw something fly out from under my car but I'll be damned if I knew what it was. We still don't know to this day what it was. So I pulled over, popped the hood and there was a bit of smoke. At this point in time, I knew nothing about my car because I had only owned it since June, and about HALF that time of owning it, it was in the shop getting fixed for things breaking. So I shut my hood, got back in my car and called the dad. I was scared shitless to try and start it because I was sure it was going to blow up with me in it. (like I said, I knew nothing about cars) so I sat for an hour and a half waiting for him and my other grandpa to some get me. They got there and the hood got popped and I was forced to sit in the driver's seat and try and start this fucker. And it did, kinda. A bit a smoke, some VERY scary noises and the fact that my spark plug shot out of the vavle reassured me there was something very wrong. So to make this long post short now, we towed it home the next day. We just figured the 6th piston had fused to the cylinder due to lack of oil, due to poor maintenance from the previous two owners. (the only records I have on the car are my own) Turns out, the connecting rod had completely shattered and busted the piston. wooooo...I now have a jdm motor. ;D and my old one is sitting in my backyard waiting for me to take it apart. ;) :D

Re:What you Blown engine Story.

I twisted a connecting rod in half in my old truck during one of the many floods in eastern nc. I was leaving my gf(now wife) house and I was driving through a puddle and it kept getting deeper. About halfway through the water was pushing the truck and it came to a stop. I went to give it a little bit of gas to go and the intake tube was behind the bumper from the factory. sucked water into the intake and twisted the #6 connecting rod in half. put a pistong and connecting rod in it and it ran like brand new. connecting rod broke off just right so it didn't touch the block at all.
