Thats about says it. I want to find a crackhead deal, the website says liquidation starts tomorrow. I'm gonna get up and check out the deals tomorrow and I don't know much about Tvs. What should I look for I think I'm set on 1080P because I don't want to have to buy something new in 3 years. I also think I am against generic. I want something good quality that will last, not break. So what should I look for.

You won't get a good deal. When liquidation firms buy out stores, they raise all the prices in the store, then take 10% off so you are at regular price +/- 5%. You typically have to wait about a month to get a good deal and by then all of the idiots of the world already bought the inventory for the inflated price.

Common sense tells me that if I filed for bankruptcy, the lowest sale prices I'd have were before going completely under (what happened today) in an attempt to turn shelf items into cash in order to restructure. This logic says there's no real sale.

That could be true but an other way to think of it is that they were in bankruptcy, which means they were restructuring. No one expected them to start paying people back by taking losses on products short, term because you can only sell at a loss for so long. What I'm guessing they do while in bankruptcy is to try and create a business plan that will create positive cash flow so they can in time become profitable and start paying back their creditors. This means they would be trying to create positive cash flow that could be sustained, not just cash for now by selling at a loss. Which means I don't think they were selling at rock bottom price while in bankruptcy, but this is totally a guess buy me. Also the website says that all prices will be determined by the liquidation firms. blah I'm just rambling now, please don't take any of this as fact.

CC hasn't been able to get TV's for months. Vendors haven't been selling to CC because they know they won't get their money. Even Walmart has had a hard time getting TV's. We haven't had a big shipment of TV's in since Black Friday, and those TV's were one-off sale only items. The Walmart where I work is the hot place to shop for every country bumpkin within 50 miles. We move quite a few TV's and still we're out. We have zero 32" LCD's in stock as of today, a few 50's, no 42's, and like 3 Sanyo 26"ers with some 19's sprinkled in. If Walmart can't get a supply of TV's no one can.

I didn't even read what you said. I know I'm right because I've gone through liquidation at an electronics store. We followed the same thing CC is doing except on a smaller scale. First thing we did was ship any good merch to stores sticking around. Then we sold back anything we could to the vendors. Then we marked the prices up on everything in the store to their original price. Then we sold stuff for 10% off for 2 weeks. After that we dropped the percentages by roughly 10% every week or so. During which time, the liquidation company would bring in absolute ---- to sell for a killer profit.

Believe me, you won't get a good deal. You are better off sitting on slickdeals and waiting for some company to make a miss print in one of their ads.

When A&N (a pretty big sports clothing store also based in Richmond) went bankrupt, liquidated, and then shut down, their ---- was 50 to 75% off of everything.

Inventory on the shelf is money on the shelf. They buy it for nothing, and sell high (retail). A smokin price would still make a markup, just not the one they wanted. They would in turn gain the cash they had wrapped into all that inventory sitting on the shelf. Possibly enough to close the shitty stores, and invest in making the good stores work again. Or... the CEO got his last payment and said let the ---- fall. It's not like he'll be at the homeless shelter anytime soon, only the investors will.
