i like the simple idea of flipping the rear end but what tranny can run backwards reliably that isn't going to break the bank. i'd also have to find a rear end that can run reliably backwards too. i'd really, really like to keep the engine up front as i think in the end this would yeild a more driveable result.

I never checked on a price but those supra trannies can handle a good number and those things are pretty cheap and plentiful at the boneyards. Once the L28 in the Z goes then 4G it is.

Yeah I got a reply back from from the guy who makes them and suprisingly it's only 275 bucks for the bellhousing and he just uses a 87 pickup tranny.

The w58 was the supra, cresseda, ect. tranny. There are other W series trannies that came in the trucks and 4runners. I think my 4runner had a w56 in it. Not too sure on similarities but I know toyota used a lot of trannies.
