Re:What should I offer for this motor?

250 is fair if it's in good condition

Sounds reasonable, especially if it runs well.

I'd offer him the $250 and work from there ;)

(FYI, cash in hand works wonders on the way people look at things) hint hint ;)

i will make him take off the head at least and inspect it. a head gasket is a cheap price to pay.

remember you're talking to the guy who just bought like 6 shitty motors. besides i dont know if ill even put it in, i might just rebuild it anyways and do forged guts.

Re:What should I offer for this motor?

pulling the head isnt going to tell you if the thing has a spun bearing and a rod knocking..

250 for a dohc zc is a sweet deal nowadays. I'd pick it up asap before its gone.

Re:What should I offer for this motor?

I would give him half now half later. Even if he doesn't know that the engine sucks, it still might. (see hotrex, ssl2k)

Re:What should I offer for this motor?

just get some info on the guy your buying it from and see where he lives and what hes doing with his life, that will give you some kind of indication as to whether or not hes trying to sell you a blown motor

Re:What should I offer for this motor?

give him 200, and it's jdm yO so who gives a ---- if it's stolen, trace that ---- all the way back to the red sun.

tell him 200 and you'll pick it up. And make sure he gives you the IM and dist. But either way 250 for a complete twin cam zc long block is a nice deal.
