Mine started around 10 years ago when a guy moved in to my area, put up a big steel pole barn, and then started moving cars into it. Later on I ended up working for the guy, and the first 2 monster turbo cars I got to see up close and personal was a 1992 Lola mk.8 indy car, and the late 80's Porsche 962gtp. He himself used to toy around with audi's and like to build little turbo terrors, but he never really made it past CIS injection. At the time I had an old '88 accord lx-i that we cobbled an old audi kkk turbo onto, but I really didn't know at the time what exactly was needed to be done to keep the thing running right. Ended up putting a adjustable fpr on it, cranked it up as high as I could, and ran it for almost 4 weeks before the motor puked. Bought a crx after that and read an article in Honda-tuning about some slapped together dsm t-25 with an adapter plate to an hf manifold, so I did a few google searches and stumbled across the old crx-resource forums, and from there I found here

Got a Civic wanted to get I/H/E and never got it for Christmas like I'd asked. Posted on H-T "Best Bang for Buck" style thread and was directed over here and started learning and being taught everything I know today. Over 2 years ago. Thanks guys (and my Dad for helping/allowing me to do this, haha, oh and Mom because he told her how I didn't pay attention on a 4th gear pull and ran out of numbers on my speed-0

it's an unlimited source of power. the only limit is containing it.
i just grew up with so much mechanical, electrical, electronic mess. It's all my life's been about. This is just one more thing... Didn't take much to realize the power of it at an early age doing aircraft & locomotives.
Eventually I had a car I wanted to do it on (my lexus) because I had a major quest for owning an ES/Windom that could do 150mph+. The only way to do it was an n2o kit. An N/A engine rebuild I simply couldn't fund, or do my own turboa fter everyone else said it couldn't be done the way I wanted to do it.
Less than $500 later I had gone from a consistantly repeateable 175whp peak @ on my gtech-pro comp, to 250whp @ 4000rpm, with a tiny *** turbo non-the-less.
After that. I love it. It's the best way to make power... Done 3 v6 4runners, couple civic's. Good times!
I need to pay my debts & get the Lexus 100% & on a turbo again. Then maybe give the old beater civic a manifold & a tiny *** turbo. This d15b1 has got to find some torque. It's rediculous. 35-70mpg is great & all, but oh my god these things can't keep up with reasonable traffic. You about kill yourself merging on the interstate... Seriously there should be a federal law against cars that can't do 0-60 in atleast 10 seconds flat.

Well always been interested in cars and ---- from childhood, growing up watching knight rider, viper, magnum p.I and shows like that. My interest in cars peaked in 01 after watching fnf a couple hundred times (i was 14 at the time) . Began roaming numerous forums reading about street racing and bodykits and ---- like that. Stumbled upon ht and automotiveforums.com around 03-04 and quickly forgot about all the rice. Bought alot of magazines and did ALOT of reading online (sometimes about 6hrs a day) found hmt in 04, registered in 05 and i have been reading and learning ever since. Bought a toyota levin in march that hopefully i will lose my turbo virginity with soon. So thanks ht, af.com, club4ag, toyotanation and most of all hmt.
