a sleeper is any unsuspected car that you roll up to and he takes you(or gives you a run for your money). doesnt have to be 100% stock but helps. my dad used to tell me about his childhood sleepers. he would always talk about the superstock car(the one from the lil ol lady from pasadina) ford made two modles one with crome and flash and one with out. same big v8 or what ever but the non flashy one would eat the streets because they were cheaper lighter and no one expected it.
and in the honda world my clasic sleeper would be 4gen4dr white with black trim cancer on the back letters missing from civic atlease one dented fender. now thats the ----

anymore, when you race someone, they will tell someone else and you will get screwed over in or around your hometown.
no one around here races me (even though quite a few could beat me). i have just played around with some guys and they tell their friends when they get beat. so, the whole 'sleeper' idea is ruined. after a while of rolling around with the stock hood with paint chips, i got a cf (through insurance money) replacement.. i would rather have tried to find a stock hood..
any more i get trucks that try and race me.. like.. big ford f150s, and rangers.. sometimes they are dicks, sometimes they are cool guys that probably have something much faster at home and just like to play around.. and these are far from 'races', but just driving fast down the highway.
the only cars around my city that would give me a good race never do. they all know what i have, and they know if they mess up and i win, they would get a ton of ---- from their friends. so i have lost all the chances at racing around here. even with a 'fast' car, you can still ---- up a race and lose to something much slower..
