I've used heat treated steel bolts, as well as grade 5. Grade 5 holds just fine, I never have had problems.

Grade 8 just has to do with the tensile strength of the bolt. The bolts don't need to be strong when mounting a turbo to a manifold. The part that gives people the most difficult is when the bolt and the flange are made out of different materials. Different metals expand and contract at different rates and temperatures. If you have to contrasting metals, they can loosen very quickly.

i used 4 differnet bolts i found in my box with locknuts
never had a problem dont let ur mother tighten the bolts for u ;) |

It doesn't matter, 4 grade 5 , 3/8 bolts could hold up a car never mind a turbo
