There was a silencer ring in the turbo before, which is not there now. That is all.

They are anti-surge ports. I dont feel like explaining it, but everyone else is wrong.

yeah they are anti surge ports or called a ported shroud. i think they work like this. you know when you head a car on the dyno spooling up it starts making that woosh------woosh-----woosh----woosh---woosh--woosh-crazy spool sound? i think it takes that away becuase that sound is the turbo going into the surge area of its compressor map, not good.
