what do you think of the tired old accord?

heres my lil car

www.com-tech-online.com/car/

its an 86 accord with 236,000 miles!

all i have on it so far is the standard IHE. and suspension mods.
but cam and CAI, and high flow cat are on the way.

please excuse the ghetto wheel situation, i have a cracked rim , and bad camber wear on my fronts, from no camber kit, but thats all fixed now! :)
also i am brewing up a HMT solution of course... :)

i use to have a car like that, actually 2 of them and blew both of them up on stock everything;) not the most reliable motor. i do belive you can drop a B16 in them tho with a lot of work. is this a LXI? or a DX?

Nice, that has got to be the cleanest 86 accord I have seen. It will defintely be a sleeper when it's turbocharged.

Here's my old 89 accord HB. I'm currently looking for an Fuel Injected version so I can go turbo.

Re:what do you think of the tired old accord?

Of course.. but around here, there are mostly DX (carbed) cars and a handfull of Lxi versions. I checked out one white one and it was a POS.

There's one in cali for 2500 body is mint but, it'll be a month or so before i can go after it.

Re:what do you think of the tired old accord?

The DX and LX accords were carb and The LXI was MPFI.

Re:what do you think of the tired old accord?

Who's car are you talking about?

I'd rather TURBO a 2.0 A20 (cast block). than to fab mounts for the H22a.

We get a mount kit for any B series. We also get a JDM B20A from Japan that is 160 hp Dohc. (Drop In). Dont confuse this motor with the USDM Prelude. We can do a rear disc swap off the Luxury SEi (loaded with leather). I'm confident about my plans for turbo ;D

Re:what do you think of the tired old accord?

I'm not really into the old Accords, but it's about 50x cleaner than my 94 so I can't bag on it. :-[ When is it going to be boosted?

Re:what do you think of the tired old accord?

thanks for all the great feedback!

actually the boosting might happen a lot sooner than i had originally anticipated.

the guy who is making up an engine management system wants me to make him a web site, (i am in school for multimedia and web design) and i told him i would prefer payment in trade. :)

this system is really cool. he took a turbo GM sunbird ECM, and rewrote all of the fuel and spark maps to run a honda at up to 15psi. its neat because we can have a computer that will retard timing if knock is detected and it will alllow full tunability. its all open source and you can burn your own chip if you own an EPROM burner. also he has integrated DIS, so i wont have to rely on the shitty old dizzy! :) also has datalogging capabilities as it stands right now. he is selling the whole thing for around $700. including injectors and everything. i should talk to him about making applications for you guys. since i know there would be a huge market for it!~

ANYWAY, back on subject
my GF (who is also a web designer) told him it would be around 1500-2000 dollars, for what he wanted (fairly extensive site)

so i am hoping that i can trade the web page work for the engine management sytem that he is selling, and a turbo/intercooler/manifold (he is working on getting a kit together for 86-89 accords)

anyway if i do this website for him, i might be turboed in the next few months. which is a hell of a lot sooner than i would have expected!

Re:what do you think of the tired old accord?

I'm planning on getting his ECM too but, I think
Bobafett will beat me as in getting the turbo going ;D

The guy doing the work is pretty good. Very respectable guy. He's known as Sean on 3geez.com
