Default What do you think ....

If you were tasked with a project to build a 300-350 WHP D16z6 Sohc Vtec
how would you go about it ? What would it take to make a solid build ?

And if it includes a swap you are a Richard Cranium

I would have to disagree with you on the sleeves, Stock ones are good to 400 Hp if not more, but definetly get Internals and a big *** turbo.

Really? Where are the dyno sheets?

You can always build one up to 400whp do one dyno run and call it a day. Or you can build one the right way with the extra insurance of sleeves or even block guard with align hone of all cylinders. THe right way almost insures it will last longer, but its ur call...

Regardless, forged internals and a FAT snail...

Well since HMT builds dont really do it A nice ported head, manifold, throttle body combo. D series heads really dont flow to great stock so ya

Its really not that hard. a 300hp D being hard to do has become somewhat of a myth becuase the people who wouldn't STFU about how they were going to make 300hp than failed miserably

imo building a D is not worth it..........I'd rather run them stock. If I was to build a motor I'd build an H or B series.

that is so wrong you dont even know. they may be good for 400hp in 1st gear only cause the tires spin and there is no load on the engine.

if you want to do any kind of pullin those cylinders will crack like a ****. i cracked a B18 cylinder @ 240wt. jeff cracked a B18 cylinder at 300ish whp

jeff cracked his in 4th gear i believe... mine cracked in 3rd gear.

the fact of the matter is the sleeves are thin and not made for any kind of power.

Eh, the head flows fine. Fill the block HMT style so you don't need sleeves, forged H beam rods and forged pistons. Whoever said something about an align hone? Of course the cylinders need a hone for new pistons but an align hone is for your main bores (to align them).
