I am a mortgage consultant, and I'll let you in on a secret.
There are THOUSANDS of program options that work for a variety of needs. The key is to find someone willing to search, and do the legwork to get YOU the deal, not to make him/herself the biggest commission.
If you have questions feel free to email me. mshaffie@gmail.com and I'll answer them as best I can.

Re: What do you pay for housing/rent/mortgage?
My parents are nice enough to let me live at home.
I've got -
Truck Insurance - 50 (soon to have my CRX up, another 75 bucks a month)
Cell - 45
Gas - I get 12 mpg, it sucks
Tuition - 10k a year
They'll put a roof over my head but nothing else. I kinda like it that way. Moving out at the end of the summer, hope I can keep my garage space :P

I'm buying a house in North Pole, Alaska.
Mortgage will be 1150/mo for a 2 bed 1 bath on a 1/4 acre. It's a nice place, I hope my offer is good enough to get it, because it has a decent garage that will allow me to finish my car projects.

Rent: I pay $745 with my discount, without the discount it would cost $928
Cable/Internet: $70
Electric: $65
The rent is the reason I am moving back to PA, I can get a house back home for around $550 a month.....Tired of pissing my money away in rent when I can own and be happier back home.
