What do you guys use to build/manage your website?

I am looking to design a small low traffic forum as sort of a side project for my community, perferably using a domain name (not bobsforum.freeforumworld.com) so if i choose to expand upon it later it wont be so hoaky. So i was wondering what everyone would recommend or what they use.

well. you need someone to host the site too. godaddy has hosting services too.
the domain alone is worthless :1

i think you have to download the smf and unzip/upload it to the directory or something :1

i used to have my own site a long time ago. godaddy was my domain O0

anyway, so you have your domain name, now you need to find a host. depending on your package it will probably cost at least $20/month. once you find a host and sign up, it'll ask you to enter in a bunch of info you got from godaddy, and godaddy will want a bunch of information from your host. give everyone what they want you'll get your very own web page!

hit me up if you wanna throw me a few bucks for some designing and maybe even managing :6

i was looking at godaddy's hosting options and it said I had one hosting credit, so i clicked it then it states this:

" Economy Hosting w/ ASP / Windows (Free with Domain) "

soooo... whats that mean? sorry for being such a newb in this area ;D

hey, i used to get paid for making layouts. then i discovered cars >:D

sounds like its a low bandwidth or online storage space offered when you purchace a domain. dunno, just check it out.

i just searched for some of my old work on one of those website archive sites.. couldn't find any. can barely remember any URL's lol. im surprised it didn't have mine.. it was around for a good year at least
