Some people want to be "natural", makes no sense, others just smell. They don't believe in washing their ***** or asscrack with soap.....
I used to work in a call center for Lexmark, the printers, well we served all of america for customer support, help people fix and install printers........anyhow it was just an open area filled with cubicles and computers. It was all good until they hired a 400lb Haitian woman. The problem wasn't the accent, the weight or anything like that. It was the smell and lack of cmputer knowledge. She used to fart all the time too, and guess what....I was so "good" they wanted me to help train her and they sat her behind me. I would have to do my and her job everyday and smell the farts all day long.
They even sent out messages about BO and how because of the way the room was setup it affected everyone. Nothing....So I got pissed left for a better job and three weeks later they closed down to send the offices to India. Now you call and get "Rick from California" but it is actually Apu from Calcutta.....

Just thought about something, Are you better than him at what you do?
If so treaten to quit if they don't do anything, or organize a sort of revolt, talk to everyone else and see how they feel, then go into HR and tell the bitch to do something or everyone else is walking out.

I work in a hippie town, where most people are somewhat tolerant of not bathing for weeks at a time. I still tell hippies they stink, and I hear others tell hippies they stink. In a non-hippie town I can imagine this guy is hearing it quite a bit more.
Get him fired, he sucks at life.
PS - as others have pointed out, the problem isn't deodorant, the problem is lack of soap and water.

god we have a guy at my work too... totally cool guy has been there for years but lately just smells soo freaking bad, I mean 10 feet from the parts counter I can smell him. I've also been wondering what to say, everyone in the shop talks about it. I have been doing things like putting burnt up clutch discs on the parts counter and anything else that smells bad so maybe he can get the hint. Our boss is a softy and wont do or say a thing. If you do find a decent solution let us know
